Test/review of Shockli IMR26650 5500mAh (Black) 2017

Would you really expect any seller to admit openly that they’re selling fakes?

Thanks, I was going to comment about this in my previous post but refrained. The fellows at 192led are, as I sense it, a demerger from GearBest. They have some product reviews much older than them (at just 5+ months in the business) where customers mention GearBest.

And let me say GearBest is not what they used to, thus I find this demerger quite logical. A good handful of GearBest's employees got fed up with their new business practices and losses of sales, I believe. GearBest used to have very good prices for lots of products but now buying there is now more like an armed robbery, and the guns are by their side LMAO. 0K, maybe a tad exaggerated.

Cheers :-)

Hello … Gerrit, I am having the same problem as you, I would like the help of my friend and if you arrive before your batteries … you could test and put the result here in the forum to compare and ask for a refund if it is false.
greetings

In our troubled times, the world turned upside down, so some people would not be surprised if the seller sends him the latest designs of “Shockli”, about the existence of which Mr. Shockli himself still does not know  litium & ion

192led FTW!!!

Edit: 192led is a scam site. Be warned.

Ummm… ok. :expressionless:

Anyone know if this is the same cell?: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Vapcell-26650-5500mah-20A-Li-ion-battery-3-7v-Rechargeable-vape-cell/1084158_32970825706.html

Vapcell were selling a purple wrapped 5900Mah 26650 that someone earlier in the thread suggested was the same cell, but no confirmation. Looks like the’ve stopped selling that version and are now selling a 5500mah one- possibly the same cell though. I guess will need to be tested to find out…

It may be whatever Junkwhale. The specified capacity in that advertisement is 5500/5400mAh 0.2C typical/minimum, with a 20A maximum discharge figure. That is a bit different than the 1C 5500mAh specified for the PLB INR26650-55A, the supposed cell being rewrapped. On top of this the ad does not show the cell top. Very bad, Vapcell Badcell.

Let's play a game. Coin me a funny phrase with the :-D following words: Vapcell, 26650 and arsehole. Thanks!

Cheers :-)

P.S.: 192led is a scam, be warned.

These are certainly the same cell (PLB INR26650-55A) that is rewrapped differently, for two reasons:
-The diameter indicated in the announcement of the Vapcell (Metallic Red) 5500mAh 20A Max Continuous is still 26.6mm (so we still have the same people unhappy to say that it does not fit their boxs/mods or flashlights).

  • Some time ago (one or two months, I can not remember) I was chatting with a Vapcell member via FB messenger, and I remember he said something like the Vapcell Purple 26650 5900mAh 20A was sold not very good because of their diameters a little too big and the fact that they have them stamping “5900mAh” did not help either (even if it’s the truth) and therefore some people (too much for general opinion at Vapcell) tended to think that their advertised capacity was exaggerated, and when I think about it neither Mooch nor HKJ have ever taken the time to release a test of the Vapcell Purple 26650 5900mAh 20A, which can comfort these people who think their capacity exaggerated in their idea.

One last thing, I do not know if it can have anything to do with this new Vapcell 26650 Red 5500mAh 20A, but PLB has started producing “revised” versions of their 26650 cells (50A and 55A, as we know them ) under the new model names: respectively INR26650-50B and INR26650-55B, the only reliable information that I have for these new revisions, 50B concern: it would have a higher amperage than 50A and above a much lower internal resistance what is really interesting (I ordered 2 units of PLB INR26650-50B to test and compare to the preceding 50A) but for 55B I board no concrete info and I board no ideas where can ’t we order unfortunately… Maybe they will be available for purchase soon enough? the future will tell us…

Thanks for chiming in HydrAxx.

Nasty jokes :-D aside, that newer 50B/55B mention looks interesting. Can you share some source to buy? Alibaba maybe? Not really interested myself right now, but information is empowering nonetheless. Pretty sure some fellows here would start ordering them like crazy.

I concur with the “5900mAh” rating too high. According to reviewer tests a 5700mAh 0.2C figure should be right (Shockli rewrap cell review).

Diameter wise, I doubt a factory fix in this regard will ever happen unless someone would make a bold ($$$) move at PLB's administration since it would require machinery, equipment and many other factory and product adjustments.

The best fix at the user's end would be filing the cell can thickness ≈0.1mm (plus cell rewrap) for those having problems. This would account for a ∅0.2mm reduction and is a relatively easy fix by hand with some sandpaper and patience.

Cheers ^:)

PLB 26650 B is not the new version …
Maybe we can see these batteries now, but PLB did not make these batteries now …

Specifically in 2016 (if I remember correctly), Liitokala used PLB 50B.

Why changed, who and when …., I do not know it …

You are absolutely right my friend.
I am a vaper since 2010 and I use devices without an electronic circuit.

I shout, bark, fight with many people because they do not know what they are doing in reality.

A high discharge NMC battery has 0.02 - 0.08 Ohms I.R.
Many vapers use resistors / consumers in the same Ohms …… or even …… LESS …. (WTF)
It is natural to be hurt ……

A 20A battery will operate without any issue at 10A.
But many consider that since the battery can deliver 20A …, it MUST pull 20A ….

It’s a little stupid I think …

Received a pair of the red Vapcell 5500mAh from their aliexpress store. First one tests at 5748mAh @ 0.5A discharge - in line with the HKJ results for the Shockli, will check the other when I get a chance.

And the other one also looks good:

Is there a protected version of this battery?

Always like HKJ`s new post. It will be much better if there is the IR test result. Is it the normal Li-ion cells for flashlight or IMR cells for vapes ?

For most of the people , we always confused that we do not know to choose the right battery.

I think it’s not IMR, but NMC …

It does not have to be IMR batteries for vaping …. or flashlights …
Just use it correctly without exceeding the manufacturer’s limits.

For those looking for an alternative to the Shockli 26650, I measured two Vapcell 5500mah (Red wrapper) and got 5,991mah and 5,971 mah on my Xtar VP4 Dragon Plus. I received these direct from Vapcell. These measurements are consistent with what I got with the Shockli 26650 from MtnElectronics from over a year ago measured when they were brand new. Strangely Vapcell said these cell capacities are not as high as they used to be. My test shows them to be just the same as the old Shocklis :+1:

yaa, they certainly seem to be another PLB-55A re wrap, good batteries. I have Two on the way for my U21vn and my FT03 [Astrolux].The dealer told me they are a replacement for the Vapcell 26650 5900mah PURPLE and the EXACT same cell.,just as I suspected!

Same OEM PLB-55A Cell as the Shockli and Orbtronic cells.

Does anyone know if the Shockli or Vapcell IMR 26650 5500mAh will fit a Lumintop ODL20C?

Thanks!
