It’s not a “cheat code” or a coupon code, or anything. Sofirn need there to be an order on file, then someone on their end checks out the comment (no idea how rigorously), and manually adjusts your cart total. So you have to get far enough in the process that there’s an order for someone over there to look at, then they will adjust. You periodically “refresh” and eventually the new total will show up, but it depends on how busy things are at their end. I have an aliexpress account from previous activity, so I could close the page, sign into my acct, and bring up an order to see if it had been updated. Not entirely sure how it would work if you didn’t have an account. I assume that a browser refresh would do it. But you have to get far enough in the order process for it to be filed on their end. I went through and chose other pmt options, wire transfer, which just brings up a page of info on how you would do that. Then the order was in their system, and I could come back to it later and see if the price had been updated.
I went ahead an ordered with Paypal. Total for 2 of each tint was $27.04, so it was still a tiny bit cheaper than the original price. Overall I’m not too worried about an extra dollar or so.
Ordered “full” price as well. Full in quotes because I wasn’t expecting the full price would only be 50 cent more. I really don’t care for a few cents and am glad they handled this as well as they did.
Yes, 2000 lights with Yuji leds, half 3200K half 5600K, 1200 black, 500 red, 300 blue. That is the plan. Already 300x black is made, the rest will be later.
It has been an interest list to assure Sofirn there is demand for this light, and possibly to assist with the group buy. I don’t know if they are checking for usernames on the list before adjusting the price or not, but I do have you on the list.
The last update I saw on the potting seemed to indicate Sofirn still intended to include it, and the gooey potting in djozz’s test sample might just be slow curing.
At least the site let you use pay-pal. Iv’e tried everything. Changing web browsers, making sure address is correct including country but pay-pal option just won’t come up. What a mickey mouse website.
Just one idea to try: If you have an ad blocker, try disabling that and refreshing the page. Sometimes ad blockers mistakenly stop legitimate 3rd party content.
