Overview: All Eneloop batteries 2005-2024

Looks ok for me (W7 + Firefox, everything up to date)

Awesome guys!

klrman, yes, always try to be on the safe side.. :)

Kame Sennin, thanks.. good to know.. I don't know why the software doesnt show the numbers... thanks for checking!

BTW, if you guys look at the /charge/ page, you can see I changed the layout completely, instead of an extremely long page, I put all the questions in tabs.. if that is what you call it.

Anyone know where I can get a deal on a BQ-CC17 charger in Canada? Looking for four of them. So far, the only option I can see is waiting for Costco to do a black friday sale if I'm lucky where they include 8xAA and 3xAAA with the charger.

Why exactly would you want it?

A Liitokala Li-402 would work well, and can be used via USB, which is nice for casual users.

I've grown to like it. It does only aa and aaa whereas the other multi chemistry chargers always seem to go bust and I want to gift the bq-cc17 to a few friends along with eneloops and an 4 x aaa lights and keep it as simple as possible for them.

Costco is the only place I’ve found in Canada.

Thought that may be the case, thanks. Amazon.ca sells that charger with 4xAA for around $29 so another option possibly. Since I want four of them, maybe the price is going to drop for black friday if I'm lucky.

The Liitokala Li 402 has been very reliable for the 3 years that I’ve owned it.

It’s not a high power charger(max 10W total power for lithium ion cells, lower for NiMH), so it is not prone to failure like the other chargers.

Are you sure you aren’t willing to take the plunge?

Might grab it. Does one need to fiddle around with it when inserting AA or AAA batteries or is it auto? Does it also slow charge the eneloops like the BQ-CC17 does? I like that the batteries don't overheat on the panasonic charger.

1. No. Just put it on the charger, and it’ll charge it. Unless it’s a HV li-ion cell(4,35V) or LiFePO4, it’s just plug and play.

2. Charges at default at 500mA. Charging it slightly faster at say 750mA for AAs, and 500mA for AAAs is recommended, as it helps the charger find the right time to stop discharge when the cell is almost completely full.

It’s a really nice charger, especially for casuals. I’ve been using it for 3 years as said before, and it hasn’t let me down. That is one advantage of being a low power charger: passive cooling is juust fine, and will never heat up the cells on its own.

I also bought multiple units for some friends, and nobody has come to me for advice, other than setting the charge rate for 1st time use.

Ok, sounds like a must buy then thanks for the help I charged once my AA's with a VC4 and it really cooked them, so I've been hesitant since then.

No.

It still exists:

Thanks, just found it at the 133859 store. That link you have, isn't that the 217753 store that was selling the fake batteries?

No.

All of the Liitokala stores sell fake 18650 cells. I’ve verified it.

They do not sell fake chargers though. I’ve bought all of my Li-402s from them, and no issues.

The CC17 is about $17 in the US, and if you buy 4, it could save you on shipping!

Announcement:

The Eneloop101.com website has been moved to a new server. Everything should be working again. If you still have trouble somehow, please let me know ASAP.

According to some tests, it knocks off about 20% of loading time in the US, and about 40-50% in Australia.. everything should be a little faster, especially on mobile.

Winner announced for the Website Give Away. https://eneloop101.com/win/

What's wrong with Amazon.com?
I received an email from a reader that the links on eneloop101.com to Amazon don't work anymore, and he was right! Almost all eneloops are gone from Amazon.com

I'm curious what happened.

I have my own theory though.. if anyone is interested.

A few months ago I noticed some limited Amazon eneloops on Amazon.co.jp (Japan). I don't know if they are photoshopped or if the regular eneloops really have black letters instead of blue. The listing shows that they are Amazon.co.jp limited editions...

So maybe Amazon.com wants to have THEIR marketshare in Eneloops as well! OR they want to only promote Amazon NiMH batteries.. who knows.. would personally think its the former reason.

Seems they changed the lineup but still plenty of eneloops. Don’t understand what you’re trying to say.

Somehow they are all back in stock again! Not sure why this happened... kind of odd
