- what exotic fish I caught in the ocean of music -

Since you guys are on old Deep Purple, you do know what Rod Evans did after he left DP…

I was listening to this in the car today and thought I would just remind you guys of this great band…

Doobie Brothers - Listen to the music

Thanks Robowski that reminded us of the Doobie Brothers.

I will never forget their first song that impressed me - Long Train Running. I was about fourteen then.

I had it, and “Listen to the Music” on my Tesla tape recorder.
In fact, they were one of my first recordings that I made my own by a friend. Seems illegal from the current point of view.

I love the Doobie Brothers. They bring back so many fond memories of a late friend who passed away this past March at the age of 65. He’s the one who turned me on to them.

Rodolphe Burger & Olivier Cadiot :

Chet Baker - Every Time We Say Goodbye

Chet Baker - Alone Together
Chet Baker - I’ve Never Been In Love Before

Eagles - Take It Easy

This song brings a lot of memories …

A long time ago when I was a student, I and my friends were playing in a casino.
I remember that I had lost about $4K at one time.:money_mouth_face:
After all, I managed to get back, I bought a golden Longines, and never went to a casino anymore.

This song and the quoted refrain were my favorites then.

This is a great thread. Thanks Bonham !

Agreed

Wow… Thanks for the evaluation friends!

And now, for something completely different.

Agree great thread, many good memories of some forgotten bands. As I have not posted before I will mention my all time favourite band Little Feat with Lowell George, well worth a listen for those who may not know them.

Great band. Lowell George was another front-man who went to the great beyond well before his time.

Lowell George played on Bill Wyman’s Monkey Grip. (1974). I love that album.

Hjeh, I posted that here or in t’other thread. Also listened to it an embarrassing number of times.

Glad I’m not the only one.

I think I have said this before…
But here it is again : Thanks Bonham for the most interesting thread.
You meet people here with all kinds of stories about their favourite musos, and you hear songs that you’ve never heard before.

“Eagles – Take It Easy”

First track on first Eagles album, and first song I ever heard by them…and one of their best!

What is this thread about?

Edit-Never mind I figured it out.

I hope no one felt affected by the above salty YT comment and I totally agree with it on the music of the Village People. :+1:
Music hits like In the Navy, Go West, YMCA, Can’t Stop The Music, Macho Man etc…

Barclay James Harvest - Child Of The Universe

Barclay James Harvest have the unique ability to recall good forgotten memories.
