I’m guessing the beam will look like a souped-up Astrolux MF01.
I used to get really excited to see 12,000 on my meter, then later if it got up to 20,000 I was really impressed! This one? Over 70,000 on the meter! Gonna run out of meter soon at this rate!
Used it tonight walking the trash can the 300 yds down to the road, really like the beam on it, at much much lower than full onslaught mode of course. Very nice even for a general purpose walk, that double click to Turbo is silently lurking in the background, waiting to turn the sun back on… 
Using it a a decent middle to well lit range for this walk it didn’t even begin to get warm. Pretty sure outside, in the cool of night, with some breeze, it should easily run the cells down without discomfort. At least in present 4 cell configuration.

I just wanted to say that I received my Q8 from Sofirn off of Amazon, and this light is amazing! It lights up across the street which is at least 600’. I don’t find that the light is too throwy at all, it just seems to light up the entire 4 acre yard. The light is very well made, with quality at least the equal of Olight or Fenix.
I wan’t to give a special thanks to Zoe at Sofirn. Excellent customer service. This won’t be my last light from them.
Sofirn will appreciate more if you write a review on amazon page.
Is there any possibility that I could still get a discounted price? The last update in the OP, about contacting Sofirn to try to get a discount, was October 11.
Just send Sofirn a message asking about a discount price. It may be Monday before they answer. Actually, I don’t know how long it might take. They may be gone till mid January. All of China is basically closing for the holidays.

Received my Sofirn Q8 today and within six hours it was already saving my butt.
Surprising my son with a trampoline for Xmas. Got everything out and looked thru the instructions. What I thought would take an hour to assemble ended up taking 4.5 hrs with help from a buddy. The last 4 of said hours were in the dark. I put some flat top 30Qs in it (button tops yet to arrive), turned it on and stuck it it a nearby free. Instant flood light that ran the whole time. The freaking thing literally saved Xmas at my house. Tonight was my only chance to get the thing up before Christmas morning.

I know this doesn’t help you, but I will comment that Sofirn had a special earlier this month where they were giving 50% off a light purchased on amazon. I purchased a Q8 for a net of $30. I don’t post this to spite anyone, more as a comment to keep your eyes open for when they have another special deal like this. Mostly for DavidEF, who posted just a couple days after the special ended.
On a more positive note, I purchased a different light from Sofirn on their Aliexpress store in the past couple days, and they sent me a message saying they would be back on Jan 2. Hopefully you get a message back from them regarding a discount coupon in the next day or so.

Well, I have not reviewed the ratings of the Sofirn Q8, but I can attest that it can operate through a drop from the top of a door to the floor. Don’t ask . . .
