I received a Review Sample of the Olight i3E. It is by far my smallest AAA light, barely larger than my spare battery carrier. I like the option to use the i3E as a spare battery carrier.
The Olight i3E is a single mode light, it is very bright for an AAA, and has a very nice Bright White beam.
l-r, 3000k, 4000k, Olight i3E looks like 6000k to me
The light comes in a presentation case, and includes a Lithium Primary Battery.
imo the Olight i3E makes an excellent gift for non flashoholics. I am impressed that Olight has included a High Quality Lithium Primary. Lithium Primaries are longer lasting, withstand temperature extremes better, and do not leak. This Olight i3E is an Excellent package. I am impressed by the quality and presentation.
There is a big sale coming up for Dark Friday on various Olight models…
here are links that Olight asked me to share: The sale includes a Free Olight i3E
I'm surprised by the review request. Olight has been phasing these out for some time. The silver one (120 lumens) hasn't been available for about a year, and the other colors (90 lumens) purple, blue, red, green are getting harder to find.
I own several. Very consistent output. You will get almost 1.5hrs with an Energizer Lithium.
atbglenn thanks for sharing your esperience, it suggests good reliability
Terry Oregon, thanks for the runtime graph, thats impressive
Glad to know the runtime is so well regulated,
My Black i3E makes 100 lumens on my meter… thats a lot of light
I think the point of the i3E promotion is to bring business to Olight for Black Friday
everything Im seeing and hearing about this little AAA is making me glad to own one
some are being given away free, black only… I hope some people that have not had a chance to try an Olight, catch one of the freebies
I have a handful of those. They are great little lights. All the kids have them on beaded necklaces they wear when they are running around outside at night. We live out in the sticks so it gets pretty dark. No city street lights and the such out here. They do a great job for them.
As too often happens with the crappy OlightStore site, as soon as the announced sale time arrived, their server slowed to a crawl, then tanked completely. I worked for 20 minutes to get a S1R Baton II Ti Winter into my cart but things blew up completely while trying to get a free I3E (since “upgraded” to free I1R EOS?) in there. First there were “503 Service Unavailable The server is temporarily busy, try again later!” errors, then nothing.
Every time this happens I swear I’m never going to buy another one of their lights. Nice hardware but their e-commerce site must be run by amateurs. They’ve sent me at least 10 emails in the last two weeks announcing all their Black Friday sales deals, then this.
Way too much time wasted on Thanksgiving day (1 1/2 hours at this point) that could have been better spent…
Yeah, isn’t that convenient? Big sale with free lights and the site is down from the beginning of the sale. Good move Olight and great customer relations!
Update: Well, what do you know? I decided to give it one more try and it took forever but I finally got through at 4:00 Pacific Time and got the free I1R, ($5.00 shipping). So thanks Olight store.
congrats on the i1R EOS
I was able to add an i3E to my cart, it was slow, but I did get as far as checkout.
Note the billing page added $5 for shipping.
I did not complete the order.
I just got one from BatteryJunction announcing the same discounts.
Only problem is there are no freebie i3E/i1R EOS deals on their sites, and as Jon_Slider found out, without also ordering something that gets the whole order over the $49, you’ll have to pay shipping on the freebie light from the OlightStore site.
