Review request for HKJ [Rechargeable Batteries]

Only a guess that it is the evolution/modification of the same 2900mAh technology. I have personal experiences only with PF cell which is an old fashion Panasonic low DCIR cell with great cycle life. (PF has lower DCIR than BM and slightly better cycle life, but it is also slightly more expensive USD/kWh). PD seems to me as PF with bottom vent. I heard about PE for the first time from you.

Here you can find more info and comparsion sheet between PD and PF from Panasonic Panasonic PF NCR18650PF: 2900mAh, 10A – 18650 Battery | BATTERY BRO

Found a source of genuinely wrapped chinese (?) OEM 26650 cells:

This should be better than any 9V battery that you tested. I see no seller, but maybe you could get a sample pair?

The specifications do not look very good. I do not like 3.7V nominal, 4.2V charge voltage and 2.75V cut-off for 9V batteries, they are specifications for a single cell.

Hmm…3.7V? I missed that. Indeed that doesn’t look good.

For clarification purposes, Henrik's latest LiFePO4 cell review -Enerpower 18650 3.2V 1800mAh (Blue)- confirmed a well seated suspicion I had with regards to the brand-name OEM behind the 3x wide leg tops: Heter Battery.

Cheers ^:)

Eeerm… LiFePO4 batteries' state of charge versus charging voltage

Cheers

Hello!

Just curious but, was the Heter/Enerpower 18650 1100mAh 33A LiFePO4 review planned? Along with the already reviewed 18650 1800mAh 3C it was suggested by me here (#582), just wondering.

Cheers

Yes, it is testing at the current time.

Thanks Henrik. I believe there is some market for small LiFePO4 cranking batteries. However, I wonder how much actual lifespan can be expected from a LiFePO4 battery in this regard. I mean, without some sort of adjustment modification to the vehicle (motorbike) voltage regulator.

Recently a friend of mine visited me with an old store bought small bike LiFePO4 battery. We carefully dissected the box with my rotary tool and found a set of 4x prismatic cells inside, they weren't looking very good and some were leaking a bit. A balance board was also inside, but after testing with my power supply unit I found none of the balance stages would activate with less than 3.7+V. In my opinion this is a joke because at that point the battery is more than probably receiving substantial damage. Yes, I am battery care picky.

I kept the box just in case I decide to custom build some battery.

Cheers :-)

The testing finished today and I have published the review.

Hi HKJ,

I spammed your newest thread already with this suggestion, but it should have been here.

I’m really curious about these:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4PCS-VariCore-Brand-3-2V-32700-6500mAh-LiFePO4-Battery-35A-Continuous-Discharge-Maximum-55A-High-power/32908657643.html

Claimed specs look really nice and these seem ideal for Maglite D cell flashlight mods.
Not even expensive.

Hope you will test them some time.

HKJ, it would be useful if you removed wraps and showed us the codes on the batteries that you test, so we can check if the cells we’re getting are the same as the ones we’ve seen in your test.

The stated characteristics look good, but do not correspond to reality, since the capacity of these batteries is not 6500, but 5000mAh. In this case, we do not know at what discharge current these elements passed the test. I suspect that this was a low current, so if you take a high current, then the capacity of these LiitoKala will be even lower. Here there is one buyer who informed us about this in his recall - VariCore LiitoKala 6,5Ah

Volumetrically speaking a 32700 cell is (32² × 70) ÷ (26² × 65) = ≈1.6313 times a 26650. Thus, nearly 5Ah for a 32700 LiFePO4 can be considered a good result. Look, for example, at any of these reviews:

A discharge test of that 32700 LiFePO4 should still be done to see what it can handle. Hope its 35A continuous current rating is true.

It is annoying when any of you post localized AliExpress links (ru, es or whatever) because stupid AliExpress sets a cookie for that locale, forcing global english site users to click on “go to global site” and also needing to fix the link by at least changing its prefix. It would be good if you were to edit your links to make them international. A global english link works for everyone.

Cheers ^:)

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to take a picture of a text from another place, and then here to show this picture I took. But, this would hardly have helped for two reasons. First, the buyer from Russia and its text in Russian, which you do not know. Secondly, the text of this person contains a lot of grammatical errors, because of which even the most successful translator of languages would not help you. Therefore, the only way out would be if I corrected the mistakes made by him in Russian, and then gave you a translation into the international language. However, then you can say that this is not the original and we are not sure that we trust this experience. In addition, I myself am also too lazy to perform such transfers, but if you do not believe the experience of that person, then no one will be offended for it. Therefore, in such cases, they say that ‘if someone does not want to learn from the mistakes of others, then he will learn from his mistakes.’

Wellp, now that we're on the fixing errors stuff came here to fix one:

As indefinite article, “a” is written as “an” only when preceding vocal starting words.

For (Linux/Windows) computers <ALT + PrtSc> captures current window content in the clipboard, while <PrtSc> captures the whole screen.

For Android, <Volume Down + Power> captures the whole screen in the clipboard.

Fair price for those LiFePO4 cells. Quite good price here even if PostNL is selected and also available at Aliya's Battery Store (reputable seller).

Cheers :-)

LoL :-D ended my previous post and then I was going to look up for the Review request for HKJ [Rechargeable Batteries] thread aaand… we're here!

Could you please add those 32700 LiFePO4 cells to your review queue Henrik? 2 pieces to Denmark for €≈10.65 at Surplus xin battery Store with PostNL shipping.

Thanks.

Cheers ^:)

I have ordered them.

Can you test a VTC5D (18650) and the VTC6A (18650 if it exists and 21700 for sure)? Either a true Sony/Murata one or the Vapcell re-wrap is fine.

Would also be nice to re-test a VTC6 now that they are all Murata wraps.
