I’d prefer to wait for a good tint Samsung LED, if the only ones available at the moment are questionable.
I don’t want to pay 20% more for XPL-Hi.
I’m sure the XPL-Hi will be great, but I’ve got many other torches with them, and want to try something different.
How are Lumintop estimating the interested quantities for each option ? This is the first time that it has been clarified what is actually being considered, after the poll, and, understandably, the interest list does-not/could-not differentiate between preferred choices since the options were not finalised.
Perhaps the poll results might give a clue as to the breakdown, but that might require some clever statistical insight. And a delay to one option might skew the demand to the first to be available.
A suggestion: why don’t we formalise the way of joining the interest list, using a specific phrase that can be parsed automatically, or a web form/database, instead of by human labour ?
E.g. [express interest “Tom Tom” X1 option B]
or [cancel interest “Tom Tom” X2 option B]
Then, if option B is delayed, any wishing to change their mind to (available) option A would be allowed to do so, after a suitable delay, maybe a month, to allow all the option A list to place their orders, then any leftovers (I doubt there will be many) would be on a first-come first-served basis.
That’s one problem with offering a choice.
Then there is the difficulty of sending out unique codes to each on the lists, to be linked in to the distributor’s system (will this be direct from Lumintop, or instead via a retailer with a better distribution system than that of e.g. the GT ?)
