Thanks for organizing again. Sign me up for 30 big springs and 30 small springs.
I would be interested in 20 each of the SST-20 4000k and 3500k if they are two tint bins below the BBL and same with the LH351D. One tint bin below the BBL for these are known to be above the BBL in reality. In fact if you can source two tint bins below the BBL for any of these emitters, I can buy up to 60 each, if needed, to help the GB reach the required quantity even though I have no use for that many.
I also added an LH351D 4000k option in a T2/T4/T5 chromacity bin. It’s not up in the air at all, since the only way to get below BBL LH351Ds would be a custom bulk order as I found out in the FW3A thread.
We are at:
700 large springs 650 small springs 111 SST-20s 4000k 40 SST-20s 3500k 16 SST-20s 3000k 10 LH351D 4000k T2/T4/T5 bin (to be confirmed once I get an email to Digikey)
The Digi-Key rep said that the tints bins T2/T4/T5 are available with a custom bulk order. Only * custom bulk order availability* was discussed.
I never said that we were going to get the T5 chromacity bin though. I’d prefer T2 obviously, but if not available, while a bit on the warm side, T4 would be very good.
@SKV89, and,one thing is confirmed about the SST-20s:
the 3500k and 3000k variants should be under the BBL line as far as chromacity tints though. So no green in the beam, not as rosy as the 219B. Just pure warm white.
Also, depending on the result of this BeCu spring groupbuy, I’ll contact guys like Richard and Neal so you guys and gals can get these springs all year long, internationally :). Hopefully of course.
Thanks BlueSword. But for SST-20, it needs to be two bins below the BBL because even one bin below the BBL like the Fireflies FA3 bin is said to still be a bit greenish.
Should be no problem. Along with the LH351D bin confirmation email that I’ve now sent to Digikey, I’ve sent Mouser some info about the chromacity bin sold on their site.
Also, I’ve done some calculations, and due to the slightly thicker silver coating compare to nickel provided by the manufacturer(20um), a dual spring array should be able to handle 22A without problems compared to 20A+ of the dual nickel plated springs. So, nice improvement for a bit more money
