[♛ FreemeGB] Fireflies PL47 Gen II 4*XP-L/ Nichia/ SST20 Hi CRI 21700 Right Angle Flashlight - ENDED

Plugging in your coordinates to obtain DUV results in the following:

PL47 = –0.0010
Skilhunt H03 = –0.0020
BLFT GTmini = –0.0037

Therefore SST-20 FA3 tint is unfortunately not as rosy as the Cree 5A/5D tint, which I really like a lot. FA3 tint should look a bit yellowish in side by side comparison with Cree 5A/5D. Thanks for the info.

Got mine last night. I Love love love the tint of the 219b, but I’d guess it’s really sitting at around 800lm on high. It really doesn’t like my Samsung 50e, if I screw it up tight the light won’t work, unscrew half a turn and it kinda works but can flicker like theres a loose connection.
It works fine with my 18650 cells :-/

Before I go back to FF can you guys tell me if the top part looks ok?
The reflectors look damaged and should the hole in the plastic be there?

So 17 Track finally shows a status, I got the shipping notice email on Nov 27 from Jack with a tracking number. The tracking gave no information until now which says my item was accepted today, Dec 13 …… but still in China.

I get the sinking feeling I’m on the 35 day end of the delivery window.

I forgot to write, the drainage with the AUX turned off is 72 microampere. Considering two glowing diodes in the switch, I think that the result is very good.

I think you are right to be concerned. Everything shown in your photos seems to be fundamentally wrong.

LEDs not aligned with optic. One of the four locating pegs on the optic broken off. A globby mess of solder attaching the spring bypass, the spring apparently barely soldered to the driver, perhaps even just pressing on it. Possibly also accounting for the crushing/dents/no contact/ reports. No driver retaining ring/current path. Sloppy driver fit. Presumably just relying on glue to retain it (though it is hard to see any evidence of that). Threads in head and on tube anodised, (insulating) instead of being masked, or cut afterwards, to provide a bare metal contact surface, nor a current path to the reverse of the driver outer ring.

And those threads at the head look so rough, and un-lubricated. The square ones at the tail look more respectable (but again, would it have hurt to apply some lubrication ?)

You could take a look at both ends of the tube and see whether the anodising has been sanded down to bare metal for continuity, if not, maybe worth a try yourself. But don’t over-do it, it seems to be quite short enough already.

Yes, good. No need for disabling the switch LED (also not possible in this design, because that pin is now assigned to the AUX. LED board). What did you measure with AUX turned on, please ?

Texas Toasted, Weller 107 doesn’t freeze in the freezer. (no ice necessary)

My SST-20 version has not come in yet. Got my XPL-HI 2 weeks ago. Has anyone not recieved their order yet?

No lights yet for me. I received my shipping notice for two models - SST and Nichia - on Nov. 18th. USPS is still waiting for the package from overseas, according to the tracking number. Delivery estimate was 15-35 days, and it’s only been about 24 days. Trying to be patient, not easy.

Wrong question. How many have received their orders (and what do they think of them on mature reflection). And how many have not, yet ? Sorted by emitter types, surface finish, and hopefully a slowdown to fix teething problems and apply continuous product improvement. We can only hope, and wait.

I assume that you pre-ordered before this thing existed, so hoped that they would miraculously all be created, and shipped, in every emitter variant, on the promised “day one” well in time for Christmas, and that they would meet, or surpass, expectations, so are anxious.

If you ordered later (still a pre-order) you might legitimately expect to be in a queue in time order, and at least told approximately when yours might be shipped.

Bye the way, I don’t see how a PayPal claim could succeed, unless the torch fails totally within 180 days. As long as it still lights up. Study your local Ts and Cs.

But that’s not actually how it works.

“When did you stop beating your wife” could be a similarly useless question, with no possible answer.

“Anyone, not, yet, received”, is un-answerable by anyone, except those who have “not yet received”, who can by definition, have no useful information to contribute. Those who have received theirs might have useful information to add.

Best stick to questions with yes/no answers, and learn about the process of delivery from China, and their attitudes to customer service. And learn patience.

Also the difference between a shipping or tracking notice, and the reality of the physical thing actually existing and having been delivered into the network (numbers, strange tracking data from unknown sources that you have to try to discover and extract yourself, sometimes even works, even paperwork, usually precede the physical delivery, and are easily gamed, particularly when PayPal rules apply, get your clawbacks in early, don’t waste time or leave it to the last minute.)

Not saying that has been happening here, but it is not unusual.

^ Quite the lecture there

almost pedantic, except for the closing disclaimer

I got mine. Using a 15a vapcell with the caved in top and it works perfectly. I was able to use my niteye ha30, Valkyrie pl1, and novatac edc60 in my headband with no problem. I’m sure I’ll find one to fit this in my stash somewhere

Which led did you order ? How is the beam using outdoor ?

Added to my shopping list

Xpl hi v3 3a

It looks great in the woods. Indoors not so much. Very diffuse beam. Not hot spotty. I still wasn’t able to see what was stalking me tonight. I didn’t see the reflection of eyes in the under brush, but I heard it.

I’m in the exact same slowboat from China as you.

An update on the hard to press switch- I set the light on a scale and slowly pressed down with the tip of my finger until the light turned on. It typically operates at around 3.5 pounds.
If I try using the flat of my thumb, the way I would normally carry and operate this type of light, I cannot press hard enough to activate the switch. If I use the tip of my thumb, it takes around 10 pounds of force to activate the light, but this is really hard for me to do in my hand. I have to support the base of the light with my pinkie finger and contort my hand so my thumb can press more with the tip than with the flat. Very uncomfortable
I’m not going to say this is a design flaw; it’s a great design to avoid accidental activation if you want to carry the light in your pocket, it’s just not comfortable for me to operate the narrow, recessed switch boot.

I hope they all don’t look like that.

Jack, whomever is doing final assembly needs a swift kick in the public area. This is what happens from rushing products to market. Please slow down, you’re about to become the latest train wreck that almost was a big success. Move too fast and you run off the tracks. Buyer confidence is dropping; many people are not touching the E07 now despite the great design, including me. You can keep feeding the alligator but it’s not sustainable and rebuilding your reputation is harder than just slowing down now and regrouping. You may go from hero to zero if we see this kind of thing with the E07, and I have to expect we will.

PS sorry for the cruddy metaphors. I hope you take heed.

Nicely said nokoff.
