AA Fans: New C88 XML @ Intl O

Zebralights are not cheaper, they are expensive, check their website: http://www.zebralight.com/

XB-D/XT-E would massively output 800-100 lumens.

This is an incredible bargain at $45 dollars. These were selling for $40 with the XRE and a cheap driver add in $10 for a quality XML emitter and $5 for the Nanjg driver and you are looking at close to $60 bucks.

runtime? I dunno, 20 minutes on high? Twice that or more w/ good 26650 instead? Maybe someone smarter will tell you more accurately.

as for building your own, check out the threads on saik sa-305. $15 host, $8.6 emitter, $5 driver, and you'll probably want a reflector. Figure in your time, the risk of screwing something up, and that it won't be nearly as nice of a host and $45 starts to sound pretty good.

Theory, 2800mAh current draw, 2500mAh available from 3 Eneloops in series, runtime 50min on High.

Sorry, to cause this thread to run off-topic. I know the 7135 drivers are linear and just burn off extra voltage. I meant 4AA with a driver which could make better use of the extra voltage for runtime (or possibly allow better use with alkalines).

Ok, close to one hour seems fine.

Only thing that it could have more modes, something like 5 modes with moonlight etc.

I do know that ZebraLights are pricier, but you get warranty, versatility, high efficiency and versatility(again), IMO there is no other single AA headlamp-flashlight combo that offers as much as ZL H51, BUT as already mentioned, 60$ is not little money for some, me included, tho if it has superb build quality and lasts forever, why not?

Group buy on C88 would be awesomo!

Group BUY!!!!! somebody call intl-outdoors and find out what they will give us off if we order 25 of em.

Amen...I bought the UF version a few weeks ago on Ebay, as I really wanted one...$47 + 14mm XM-L emitter + driver. I've never ever been accused of having good timing :)

nah, my fault

good point. seems to be big enough...

Unbelievable, just as I'm waiting for the third (THIRD!!) time for a properly sized XM-L board to arrive, they go out with this...

But I'm definitely in for a group buy at 30$-35$.

Too many lights make appearance, too little money :D

I bet I would like this form, size and look more than previous AA + XM-L TK41.

Groupbuy sounds scary, don´t do it, otherwise I may have to get one.

@CheapThrills: Buy it, don't like it, sell it to me. Any questions? ;)

Crap, I already spent $65 on lights today, and you guys start flashing pictures and praise for an AA light (my favorite). I need to take a BLF-vacation for a month and let my paypal account cool down to normal operating temperature.

Sounds like a plan :D

But seriously, I´m not sure why I have the urge to sell lights that genuinely don´t impress or which I´m not fond or comfortable with...

6 x 7135 would have been better with AA , though I really like the 4 x 7135 [ very nice regulation ]

I ordered the regular XR-E version from another site for a BUILD , XM-L + 1.4A Driver ..

Would be nice , if the light were offered with your choice of driver ... [ 1.4A - 2A - or 2.8A ]

When I started reading the thread I thought the same. If price is ~US$ 35 I am in for one.

Thank Hank is a tough cookie. He stands by his pricing. So far I've had no success striking any deals with him. I have doubts about a Group Buy.

Oh, and this is a pretty decent looking light. I would definitely want to cram a 26650 in there!

Well, I wouldnt mind to get one for 30$ shipped, 35$ doesnt seem like too much either, but 30$ might many here consider about getting actually 2 of these IMO :D!

45$ on the other hand is a bit too much, for that price or some additional 10-15$ you can get decent 2xAA light from known brand that has warranty.

My 2c

I have already asked him and this is what he said:

Hi,

Sorry, please be advised that the price has already been set with budget consideration,
and we don't have any group buy plan.

Regards!
Hank

If the quality is up to the original Ultrafire standards then $45 is already quite the steal. I’m sure Hank shelled out quite a chunk of money to have a custom run of these lights made. You are already saving $15 by not having to mod the light.
