Suggestions for a new 26650 flashlight

Lumintop ODL20C

Ouh that’s a serious choice I’ve got there.

Ummmm… I’ve just gone through a few posts about the Emisar D4S. Rated at 58.000cd with a SST-20.

Whats the main difference between the XPL-HI and the SST-20? According to the specifications the SST-20 spreads out pretty much the same amount of lumen but more candela than the XPL-HI - but the XPL-HI costs 15$ more.

Try looking at the Wuben T70 with the coupon code from M4D M4X deals it’s well under 80. Your single cell part kind of limits throw choices.

SP33 and/or the L2?

wuben t70 is good but i would not call it throwy
it does have built in charging and comes with a decent cell
and it has ramping as a UI choice

wle

Emisar D4S. The XPL-HI 3A version offers a nice balance between throw and spill. I suppose the SST-20 version will be a bit more throwy.

Large.
Convoy L2 or L6. single or/and double tube.

Small. and my fav in 26650. Imalent DN35. Great throw with good spread and fits “nicely” in your hand for long periods. the DN70 is another but waay more throw.
You’ll get either of them with current coupons on here under $80.
These above are just what I have and know how they feel.
There are a coupla C8 copies around with 26650 sleeves too I believe.
I like my C8+ and Sofurn C8t (but 18650’s).

Have fun. there are dozens of them.

The L6 convoy only works with two batteries. Two batteries 26350 must be used with the short tube.

Thank you all for the suggestions! Now I’m even more clueless.

Ima go through all of these lights when I find the time. I will tell you my decision later. :student:

Lumintop ODL20C would be my first choice in your specs. I have 2 of them and I like everything about them.
I would also recommend you look at the new Astrolux FT02. It is a 21700 thrower with on-board USB charging. I saw the initial testing and it looks great at around 2200 lumen and 180k CD. They begin shipping this month from Banggood. I think price range is around $50 with a coupon code. I pre-ordered two!

Hello,

after a whole lot of reading I’ve decided to go for the Lumintop ODL20C.
Ordered it from Banggood for 52€ (60$) without battery. Now searching for a good battery - I’m not sure if I should go for a protected or unprotected one. The low voltage warning should be enough protection to not drain the battery to the point where it gets uncomfortable. Polarisation shouldn’t be a problem either, as I’m always double-checking if I insert it right. (no pun intented :smiling_imp: )
So I would say it doesn’t need to be a protected cell. I just gotta check finding a good one which ships to Germany in the most short way possible.

You can’t go wrong with the Sofirn SP33. It’s a great light , and the price is very reasonable…. a bargain really!

Sofirn SP33 is $22.99 without battery & $29.99 as a kit with battery & charger. A bargain……

I have the Lumintop ODL20C also. It is a nice light, but I just couldn’t pass on the SP33. I’m glad I didn’t too… I Iove it. :+1:

So guys… which cell should I buy for the Lumintop ODL20C?

It doesn’t have to be a protected one but please no shipping from China, as it takes a long long time to ship to Germany lately.

Shockli IMR26650 5500mAh seem to be about the best.

Thanks!

Just bought one from a german seller for a big 16,90€ plus shipping 6,90€ - makes a total of 23,80€ (27$) :zipper_mouth_face:

But I can’t risk getting the flashlight in probably one to two weeks but the battery in 4. :person_facepalming:

Pet’r J.

The Convoy L6 will run on one battery if you buy a single L2 battery sleeve.
They are interchangable. I’ve just done it with mine here.

Just a matter of interest for the future.

So guys, my Lumintop ODL20C finally arrived today.
I’m impressed by the output and looks of the light, but I’ve also found a few big negatives.

Something went horribly wrong with the anodisation of my light next to the switch. It doesn’t look as bad as on the photo but it’s still annoying.

The threads weren’t lubed at all!

The LED isn’t centered wery well.

A unprofessional beamshot compared to my most powerful flashlight - the Nitecore TM16:

And a little fun-shot:

All photos were taken with a iPhone 8.

That’s awful. I wouldn’t expect that from any manufacturer, and much less so from a brand like Lumintop.

I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. You switched Convoy L6 and Convoy L2. Convoy L6 needs two batteries. The driver is operating from 6-8.4 volts. Convoy L2 has a driver supporting one or two batteries. If you use the Convoy L6 short tube from Convoy L2, you must have two 26350 accumulators. The Convoy L6 does not work on one battery. I shot a short video. First I test Convoy L2, second Convoy L6 (bigger reflector, side switch).

True words.
Guess that’s called unlucky when ordering from China!
