really a let down to see sudden change in tint choice when it says clearly in OP 5000kish tint… yeah why listen to BLF when u not gonna follow whats been agreed long ago ? yeah there is a reason blf q8 is one of the most popular lights and very few complain of the stock tint, its perfection.
count me out on this light, i´ll stick with my good old l6.
You should remove BLF special from the thread title. With the exception of a few fins nothing about this light is consistent with other BLF lights. Not 1 piece head, not SMO, not BLF firmware, no retaining ring, no popular LED choices.
It doesnt beat a modded L6 even with a bigger footprint only matches it. Too many concessions and shortcuts and people are just coming up with excuses on their behalf. Let them release their own light since they wont use any feedback anyways.
Below is an exact copy & paste of the latest update, on 14 August 2018; of Post #1. This was supposedly decided over 4 months ago, with no indication of change until an offhand comment about LED choice a couple of days ago.
Item #3 clearly states: “3. LED: one XHP70.2, 5350-5700K emitter”
Not 5000K, not 4500K, not 4000K, not 6000K, or not 6500K.
5350K - 5700K is what was agreed upon & listed over 4 months ago. Hopefully that…. will be what we get.
Note also that #2 states a ’Smooth Reflector’. However, it was indicated weeks ago & has been discussed at length that this may be changed to a ’slight/mild Orange Peel’ Reflector.
As far as I can tell the LED tint change away from 5350K - 5700K has just come out of the blue completely. No discussion, no prior notice, no nothing…. 
Why were LED’s not sourced months ago??

Once again to confirm other information. It’s much appreciated if anyone could help optimize for better reading.
1. size: 9cm big head, aluminum bezel

4. 2*26650 long tube(sleeve for 21700),
5. tactical ring
6. Switch: tail forward clicky switch + side switch (with indicator as Q8)
7. Overheating Protection. Low Voltage Protection.
8. UI:
Tail switch to power on / cut off
Nothing bad to say about Jason either. You did what you could and invested a lot of time. They should be listening to your expertise since they clearly wanted the feedback at the start.
Going with the usual 5300-5700k from Sofirn would be great.
While I do not like much that tint, I still prefer it over cool white 6000-6500k of the Sofirn SP33.

For steel it depends, it is an alloy. You can get non-magnetic steel.
The magnetic elements are iron, cobalt, nickel.
Concerning 4)
They told me 21700 would just fit but not recommended at all as cells would be tightly compressed. There is no word about 21700 batteries in the manual, nor are any sleeves supplied with the SP70. My personal opinion is that high-drain 21700 batteries like Molicell P42A or Samsung 40T would yield much more power than any Golisi S43 or PLB-55A cell, so it would be somehow sad to be limited to 26650 only.

Please excuse if I have not followed everything in this thread, so I do not know what UI we had agreed upon. According to the manual the SP70 will have an UI comparable to the one of the C8F, i.e. stepped modes and ramping mode one can switch in between by multiple clicks. Apparently, it's not something sophisticated as NarsilM, RampingIOS V3 or Andúril.
Actually, the change has come into the blue, that is, the blue spectrum of light. 
But yes, I have to agree with those here who are disappointed about the tint change. I think that Sofirn is seriously underestimating the amount of “tint snobs” here on BLF, of which I am one of them. I would prefer something in the 4000K range, although I can still accept the 5000K range. But 6000K is ugly enough to my eyes to probably make me avoid purchasing it.

The input that is given here is relevant, pointed and particular, but I wonder if the sales don’t bear out the need for smooth reflector lux numbers, mod-ability and more easy on the eye tints.
Remember that Olight sells a heck of a lot of lights in the cool to cold spectrum! I also wonder if people shop with certain specs in mind (MORE LUMENS!) and that’s what drives some companies to spec the CW emitters. Price is another factor and maybe the BLF-approved details add up to a light that’s not in line with the rest of Sofirn’s price points. Who knows?
I want 4000K to 4500K
5500K is the maximum I buy.
The angry BLFers are back out in force demanding a NW tint.
Yeah, I’m sure that’s the overall market reality. Maybe I just have delusions of grandeur, but I thought that the whole point of making a “BLF” edition of this light was to cater to our personal preferences, which appear to be overwhelmingly in favor of neutral tints. Of course we’re a small drop in the bucket compared to the overall market, but nevertheless I’m sure they could make some nice profit by targeting us as a specific niche.
Good points really. When you get right down to it, our ’BLF Wish Lists’ are just that I guess; “Wish Lists”. We are actually a very small part of the market as far as projected sales go & there is no way to cater to our individual varied ’wants & needs’.
However, once things are agreed upon; I wish those things would be done unless there is a very compelling reason to change.
I’m a bit irritated that people keep jumping to conclusions.
Tint has not been finalized. Sofirn is looking for 5350-5700K right now and should tell us soon (maybe next couple of days) if they can get it and how much extra time it might take.
Working with a company to design a light is a collaborative effort. It’s a combination of ideas from both parties. It’s not like BLF is in charge and makes all the decisions.
Hopefully, together we will make a really nice light. 
My bad about the nickel vs steel issue concerning magnetism. I learned that nickel is magnetic, so, goes to prove, old dogs remain stubborn but CAN learn something new occasionally.
Since this light started out as a design element of BLF requirements and is still listed as a BLF Special, it would only make sense that it meet BLF requirements. They’ve surely had ample opportunity since the tint was sorted out to acquire the necessary emitters, months and months!
In the end they lose sales here, and the interest to assist them in design parameters. But oh well, it is what it is… someone else will be willing to build what we want or just get lucky and get it right and then our money will follow…
We should start a group buy thread with current specs and see who is in. Money talks we will have a bit of wiggle room this way.
They obviously want the light to be out as quick as possible so they get there money back which is an issue for us because it means they have to rush certain aspects of the light.
