Sofirn SP70 Alone $50, PM for AMZ US CODE(LIMITED)

Yea the compelling reason here is money lol. It may be an extra few weeks wait on the LEDs after a few delays already. Peoples heads are on the chopping block lol.

Thatā€™s the reason I have only one olight and I donā€™t think I will ever buy one again.

Only want, no need!
I definitely donā€™t need another flashlight!

 ā€¦ I can certainly relate to that!! :+1: .

Isnā€™t it fairly easy to swap the led to whatever color you want?

I was goofing around with some junk leds so I decided to swap their mcpcb. I used my cheap hot air station. It was much easier than I thought. Now I can do reflows.

Congratulations Jason, being able to reflow your own favourite led makes you way less dependent on the manufacturers  :+1:

But the idea of all past BLF special editions was to create flashlights that are right straight out of the box, not after modding.

Press fitted Tir in the S1 mini HCRI. X3 ruined his driver at disassemble.
UI and Lamp is nice, but a LED swap is hard.

I couldnā€™t agree with you more Jos.

At this point i donā€™t see any surplus value over a L6

This is not an ā€œofficialā€ BLF light. Itā€™s like a BLF edition.

You have to replace the led, driver and reflector on an L6 ($65 + $45 + labor). The SP70 should be good to go right out of the box.

Keep buying L6, though. They are good lights. :+1:

I heard back from Tracy:

She says they had success in finding the 5350-5700K leds. I donā€™t know if it will delay anything or not. She sounded like they got lucky and found a supplier in Hong Kong.

The 21700 should fit ā€œunofficiallyā€. The manual will only say 18650 and 26650, though.

It is too late to add a retaining ring to the design. The first batch (for us at BLF) will not have any glue on the driver. I donā€™t know about later batches. Maybe eventually they will glue in the drivers.

Iā€™m wondering if it might be better if later batches only used a tiny bit of weak glue on the battery tube with nothing on the driver. This should secure the driver in place, but might be easier for the enthusiast to loosen. IDK, just a thought.

/\ ā€¦ Thanks for the update Jason!! :+1:

Merry Christmas to allā€¦.

Wish convoy was building this light, we would have tint choices up the wazoo! Anything over 5k is poop, 4k perfect. My sofirn Q8 is great for showing off, the oringin BLFQ8 is far superior in tint and real useage. Any humidity in the air renders the Sofirn Q8 as useless.

yeah i agree, its awful quiet on the convoy front, we have got an updated c8+ but still no l6+ wonder whyā€¦ guess the l6 sells still and is good enough for most people looking for a budget friendly light that does over 3000+ lumens on turbo and not breaking your wallet.

This is nothing more than your opinion & preference.
Here is mineā€¦. 4000K sux. Most anything under 4700K is pure crapā€¦
ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦yeah pure crap, as far as I am concerned.
And again, this is nothing more than my preference & opinion.

But the CCT of this light was decided months ago to be between 5350K & 5700K.
To gripe & whine about that now is nothing less than stupid.

And the builder of this light, Sofirn; was decided from the start.
To gripe & whine about that now is worse than stupid.

Donā€™t like it, donā€™t buy it. Plenty of people willā€¦ā€¦

Merry Christmasā€¦ā€¦ :+1:

5350K-5700K- :+1:

Convoy made XHP70.2 version L6 with SMO reflector on Aliexpress. I think driver is the same or a little boosted. Factory claims 4300 lumens. I hope this SP70 will be much brighter

The SP70 is using a FET driver, soā€¦
Sofirn already measured over 7,000 lumen with some good batteries.

Great Jason! Some thick wire spring bypass and thicker led wires will good above 8K

Sounds pretty darn goodā€¦ā€¦ :+1:

I would just say to swap in whatever tint you want. If your very particular about tints, then this is probably a common mod to do. The L6 uses the xhp70, btw. Most folks might end up swapping it for a xhp70.2, anyway. Assuming they want higher output, of course.
