Exduct Special 5% coupon for BLF members "BLFgiveaway"

Ok,just waiting 1 week to see if we can get enough registered,I will not do the draw the numbers,it's better if you have admin to do the lottery fairy.

I just do verification on winners, and pay them the earning commission.

A new warehouse sounds like a big project. Good luck with that :) I have to say your shipping information for orders has always been prompt and accurate.

As for the drawing, I guess it would be best for someone else not participating in it to remove any potential conflicts of interest. They could just use Random org's list randomizer.

I wrote Mr. Admin a PM... hopefully he sees it... his inbox might be over-flooded. But we will find someone... if everything fails I will withdraw my ticket and do the drawing myself.

Thanks Vec. Very noble of you. I think any other of our respected members here could step in and help out as well so you don't have to remove your participation.

How about using the numbers drawn on a national lottery or similar respected method? We could be damn sure of impartiality then, just pick a future date and stick by it, we have Euromillions that I believe covers the majority of Europe, I guess the US has similar?

Edit: http://www.thelotter.com/Play.aspx?itemId=1&LotteryID=24

This will generate six numbers between 1-49 on the 14th march, anyone in the world can check and no-one can influence, so far we have less than 30 entries but we will have the sixth number as a spare incase one is out of range or someone doesn't qualify with a fake order number etc.

Well I guess my suggestion was so absurd it didn't even warrant a reply saying no

So what is happening here?

Oh, sorry Jeansy. I think that's not a bad idea at all either. Granted the 14th is over already. I think there are lots of possible solutions. In fact, I wouldn't mind if Vectrex just did it and included himself in the running. Seems like a good guy to me, plus maybe he deserves to win since he came up with the idea :P

Using lottery numbers is not good, as they are usually listed in numerical order. In our case it means that persons with high numbers would suffer (since the sixth number is always the highest).

Using for example random.org is way better, but requires some trustworthy person to do the draw.

I think the lottery idea is a interesting idea since it's 100% random and isn't able to be cheated in any way ..But the down side is what do you do with any numbers that are above the number of participants . or what about participants over 49 in number .

absurd ?? no I liked it

practical ?? maybe not

Yes I agree it has a couple of issues, for the problem of numerical order I figured we could use the drawn order but I'm not sure how easy that is to look up. Also at the minute the 49 limit is not close to being a problem.

The random generator does seem like a good idea but really unfair if Vectrex does it and misses out

As for Admin doing it, think that's a lot to ask and infact maybe SB should be given a entry anyway, he has allowed this on his board and he appreciates knifes judging by the review of old-lumens(iirc) gift to him

Another edit: I could give another order number I used as SBs entry, obviously I only used my most recent order but I have several, 6522 is my next previous one according to my emails

take the closing value of the dow jones industrial average on a specified day. Remove the decimal amount. Use that number, the number of participants, and the modulus operator to pick the winner.

(DJIA % nParticipants) + 1 = winner

That’s a poor idea. The DOW will almost certainly start with a 1 and the next number will be a 3 or a 4 since it has been hovering around 13K. So that is not even close to random. I am surprised that you knew the meaning “modulus operator” but couldn’t see the glaring flaw in this idea.

Maybe you should look up the meaning of a modulus operator.

Haven't heard from Mr.Admin (probably inbox flooded with more important stuff)... but old4570 offered to be a backup fairy... so we are all set. I am a little disappointed that not more people participate, we must have more silent readers than I imagined.

This generator from random.org will do the magic...

Step 1: The Sets

Generate 1 set with 5 unique random integer in each.

Each integer should have a value between 1 and 29 (both inclusive; limits ±1,000,000,000).

The total number of integers must be no greater than 10,000.

Step 2: Display Options

Each set will be printed on a separate line. You can choose from the following extra options:
Number the sets sequentially
Use commas to separate the set members
Sort the members of each set in ascending order

You can select the order in which the sets are printed:
Print the sets in the order they were generated
Order the sets by the values that occur in them (in this case, you should also consider sorting the members of each set)
Print the sets in random order

Step 3: Go!

Be patient! It may take a little while to generate your sets...

I have more than two orders on the list you posted (not gonna say how many orders or you'll think I'm crazy ). I'm sure there are also other people with more than one order on that list which reduces the number of participants a bit.

Yeah, you are probably right...

Deadline for the participation is Monday 3/19 24:00 PDT. So hurry up if you haven't entered yet. ;-)

Ok seeing as there was no resistance to my suggestion for a complimentary entry for Admin, I shall enter it now. It will be clear enough, and I state now, other than using this board I have no association with them.

Jeansy, I have just seen your post... so old4570 pretty much has to do the drawing now... even if Mr. Admin would respond to my PM... a little very last minute... but it will work out.... I hope.... I am not a big fan of changing the rules along the way... a heads up would have been nice..

You have chosen to ignore several of my posts and it was posted whilst you were online last time, if you really don't like it delete my entry, I'm not that bothered but I entered in good faith rather than using 7% codes. I am not overly thrilled about trusting someone I don't know to do it, I assume you havebeen PMing old4570?

My lottery suggestion seems fairer and transparent but you also ignored this. I shall not partake next time don't worry...

Yeah, I PMed old4570 as a backup in case Mr.Admin didn't see my PM in time. We can do the next raffle round your way, if everybody agrees. I think there were still some open questions about your way to do the raffle. I wrote you a PM to explain it better... I hope there are no hard feelings. From my personal point of view it is absolutely OK and a good idea to include Mr. Admin even it is very last minute... I just hope that everybody feels the same...
