convoy m1 and m2

:+1: …. Thank you - X3 -, that is the UI chart I am using. I cannot get the 10 ’short clicks’ (or more) to do what is written in the chart. :person_facepalming:

I am stumped, but will keep trying…….

Links please. Gotta grab them or too late. Thanks.

The “short clicks” are just normal half clicks that you usually do to change modes.
You’ve got to be quite quick to make them though

Yeah, that is what I am doing for the “short” clicks - X3 - …… it is just not working as the sheet says.

It may be I am doing something wrong…. but if I am, I cannot figure out what it is.

I’m gonna give it a rest for a few hours & come back to it to see if I have any better luck.

I have never had this type trouble with any UI before…… :person_facepalming:

Interesting. I have the exact same M1 setup, and it didn’t take me more than an hour of finagling to set it up. These tips may help:

To get to config, I just half-click until the light stops immediately lighting up. That’s the cue. And since mine is the “faster” early batch, I don’t count how many times it flashes when selecting modes - counting the lulls inbetween is much easier.

Really hope you come to an understanding with your M1, teacher, it’s a sweet piece of kit

I had similar problem once. I could not get into configuration mode. Probably bad flash or some other hardware issue.

Ok… I do the ‘half clicks’ but the light never “stops lighting up”. It makes no difference whether I do 10, 15, 20, 30, “half clicks” the light never “stops lighting”. :person_facepalming:

And yes, I really do know how to do a half click.

This is the only UI I have ever had a problem with. And it is supposed to be a fairly simple one really.

I am thinking it has to be a firmware problem.

I only got this light because it was on sale & I wanted to check out the Biscotti firmware to see if it was suitable for a ‘non light’ person.

What did you do to solve your issue?? Replace the driver.

That’s rough. You may need a new driver, or to re-flash this one.

That’s all I can come up with at this point.

Thanks for the responses to the ‘cry for help’…. :+1:

Seems that your driver is malfunctioning…
You may have to replace it, maybe contact Simon ?

I think you are correct - X3 -. I am gonna contact Simon & see if he will send me another driver. Probably order a host or two while I am at it also.

Again, thanks to everyone for trying to help sort this out. :+1:

I think Simons strategy here is brilliant - these are superb hosts, and it makes economic sense to simply keep upgrading the drivers and emitters. Constantly changing styling, simply for its own sake, is expensive and unnecessary. Just ask Olight.

I’ll choose function (and value) over form every time. Convoy lights just work!

WORD. It also has two advantages: it makes the line timeless, and most of the hosts can pretty much be made on a lathe alone. Even the new ones.

I put a lighted reverse clickie in mine and forgot that I can’t program it with one of those. No way to do a half click from off.

At least my memory is on!

Well said!! I totally agree…. :+1:

My Biscotti update. It was for sure the driver that was screwed up on my M1.

I got a C8+ today that has Biscotti & the UI works exactly as it is supposed to. First time, every time. . :+1:

Very glad to know I was not loosing my touch or… my mind. .

There was a buggy batch of Biscotti drivers where everything ran twice as fast as it should, i.e. short half-presses were really short, so it was hard to configure.

Drivers with that behaviour still crop up from time to time, so I have a nasty feeling some of them got mixed into Simon’s general stock before he could pull them.

Fortunately, Simon will be happy to send you a replacement driver.

I have those “defective” drivers on my M1 (yay, relevant post!) and newer S2. I find them to be the perfect speed for me - the “correct” drivers take forever to get to the mode group that I want :confounded:
