Solarforce L2's just arrived. Wasn't happy, Am Now!

Does anyone know how to post pics?

Thanks, Marc.

See here": . Note the use of the "width" & "height" fields. If using Photobucket, copy the "Direct Link" to use for the image URL.

Thanks Garry, I just found it, but It looks like I need Flickr or something like that so no can do.

Thanks, Marc.

I revised my post above by the way. Just sign up for a free www.photobucket.com account. It's easy to use. I'd also recommend resizing photos (or decreasing quality a little bit) to save on the file size (so you don't hit your account limit too quickly and also so the photos can load a little quicker).

Ok thanks Garry and Jeansy, going to give it a go.

Marc.

Marc.

P.S. thanks guy for the link

Yep! See 'em just fine!

Yeah good pics of some shoddy work! Seems Solarforce really are slipping... :(

Yeah that's what I thought. I sometimes I wonder if I am being a little fussy, but then I ask myself 'would I send some of my work out like that?' It probably looks worse in real life because I am no photographer!

Marc.

Nah that's not fussy, that's maybe what you could expect from 501/2 knockoffs

I am waiting a sand and grey L2 too. I would hate if they came like this.

Hope they solve your problem.

The question has been asked many times, Is it sand or bronze? Well mine is bronze, I would have like it to be sand. Don't get me wrong though, the torches seem very good, strong switch, nice fit and finish, apart from the grey one. I'm glad I got them, but will feel better when grey one is sorted.

Pics look great! One suggestion: edit your post, click on the photo (you'll see little boxes on each corner of the image), then click on the photo tree. Go to the appearance tab, change first dimension box to 100% (or smaller, make sure you enter the % sign) and zero out the second box. This resizes the photo to fit anyone's screen, within the dimensions of the post - see below:

I have a black L2P and a gray L2 on the way. Sure hope they look better than this!

Where did you order them from? solarforce direct?

Yes

Yeah Solarforce sales. The bronze one is OK, and it is bronze. I have just been on there website to compare and they are not alike. I like the one on the website, it's a nice muted tan colour. The solarforce logo is a little high and therefore not centered. But the build quality is Quite good. I must also point out that I bought a SS bezel, the $2.50 one and that is not very well made. It has sharp pieces sticking out. I can fix this, no probs, but you should not have to.

Yesterday I received a Jetbeam BC40 and there is a massive difference! The jetbeam looks like it has been made by very sophisticated robots wearing cashmere gloves. The Solarforce however looks like it had been made on a lathe from the Victorian era, that in turn, has been operated by a man in a very greasy apron. There is also a lot of scratches on the inside of the battery tube, just where the battery enters. If you look closely there are tiny dings which have been anodized over. It's as if they are literally spat out of a machine, from a height and ping! into a large bin, where they rattle around for a bit.

I know the jetbeam is more expensive, but I paid $40 from DD if you get the L2p XML it is $32 and the prices go higher as you go up the model range. That's before you realise that the L2 is not really designed for high output like the Jetbeam. So I'm just trying to justify why I am comparing the two.

I don't think I would buy another.

Marc.

Between rides, I have tried what you said but cannot get it to work. Sorry.

Marc.

LOL! Loved that description! Such vivid imagery!
