Fireflies E07 preview

Pics like those make me happy that I also chose the XPL-Hi 5000k

Did you happen to notice how long it could sustain that max output before getting too hot?

My same model one from Neal is due here Monday.
Thanks for the clean white picture.
I hate yellow snow.

unless it’s my initials
used to be my whole name
Oh well…

Can anyone tell if the glass is AR coated? Having trouble spotting it on this one

I realize what it says in the description. I can usually reflect it on a ceiling light and see an obvious coating but it’s not so apparent.

It was cold outside, so I really didn’t hang out very long to find out. I would guess I was outside for at least 3 or 4 minutes, but it was 25ºF outside. No stepdown and the light warm but not hot

Hello Toykeeper, you have mail

I reduced the Andúril chart, gives a bit room to add stuff.

One version is a 90% reordered (not pretty) version.

I'm still surprised it could even hold it that long considering it's size even with the cooler weather. I was expecting you to say something like 20 - 30 seconds.

Maybe it was more like 2 or 3 minutes. It wasn’t long though. I only had a tee shirt and jeans on

It’s easy to miss the step down without a meter. It probably did begin to ramp down before that

Anything over 30 seconds is a winner to me in that size category. Not sure if it will make a huge difference but I did order mine with a 40T instead of the 30T.

Thanks robert. Nice beamshot. I am waiting for my e07 xpl 6500k…

I ordered both 5000k and 6500k. Will be interesting which one I like more.

Here is a nice comparison of the D4S between SST-20 6.500K and XP-L 6.500K.

https://www.taschenlampen-forum.de/threads/emisar-d4s-sst-20-6500k-beamshotvergleich.67526/#post-958201

While the SST-20 tends to have a green tint shift at lower currents the XP-L HI has no tint shift on all current levels.

That SST-20 looks a yucky green!!

Waiting for my E07 with XPL HI 4,000K.

Reading this thread is making me drool!

That green is enough to keep me away from the SST-20, not very appealing at all.

joechina, the actions part of the manual is critical, needs to be front and forward so it’s the first thing you refer to before digging into the UI… without knowing the actions the UI is confusing, understand how to get there and everything is easy.

I know Dale. It’s the not pretty version.
Others have the line description on the bottom or lower right. I think with so much different lines I guess a user searches for the explanation.

I made three versions, this is the 90% where I pushed things around and with the most free space.
The other two are a 90% and a 95% version where I moved nothing.

We both don’t know how much space the misses needs.
I lost track at the moment of the changes in Andúril, but the not pushed ones should be good for 7th click and a bit of text.

(It reminds me a bit at Narsil: Boy the cheat sheet is so packed, no way to add more stuff. And the next week Tom E had new features. Ok, I must push stuff around)

Also the lines for Hold, 3 fast clicks and other actions need probably a bigger spacing.
On A4 paper size its ok, but manufacturers print normally in a much smaller size.
I haven’t made print out in A5

A option for the “3 fast clicks”-line could be

few more beamshots while the neighbours are sleeping hahah

just a quick photo snaps so dont expect too much :stuck_out_tongue:
