FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

The OP says: FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight.
If we are going to hijack this object under construction, at least we should check things with TLF.
The TLF member called Tommy in the OP, is he still around?

Let us at least test first what the “temperature of the water” is over there.
Don’t copy the the does and don’ts of BLF onto TLF. TLF has it’s own rules and customs.
They have at least one annual meeting where members try to throw some light on the dark side of the moon.
So they meet face to face. Maybe one of them can say anything about the state (of mind) of Fritz15.

Please do keep in mind that in this forum also members suddenly go MIA.
Because they re-arrange their priorities, lose their jobs, get into accidents, fate strikes, et cetera.
Sometimes the best way to change things for yourself is to go cold turkey. To close all doors behind you.

I do hope the FW3A does come together, I can honestly say the electronic tail switch is a joy to use on this form factor.
My personal version which has now morphed into a rather dense full copper & carbon fibre construct and was made without even access to a lathe has been used with pleasure every day since birth.

I hope you all get yours too, eventually :+1:

okay that is indeed a bit strange then, lets hope not more delays otherwise we would like an explanation is the light gonna get released our not, better be honest and come clean if so…

silence this long is never really a good sign is it, but im gonna stay positive for a little while more if not i will withdraw my interest then if things doesnt move.

Maybe he doesn’t care anymore, since the latest prototypes look quite different from his initial concept.

+1

CRX I hope the edges were smooth when you gave birth to yours.

I’m just the father.

There is no mystery. All the info is from this thread. We just need to read it.

I understand that not everyone has the time to read the thread, so I try to answer these repetitive type questions when I have time.

@ Yourrid … Nice recap… :+1:
And I totally agree that without ToyKeeper we would be clueless as to what is going on with this light. She has kept us updated as best she can with the limited updates she gets.
I think a name change to fGW3A-TK would be apropiate as it would tell the story of TK for the save.

And while I appreciate the ‘shout out’, it is not deserved. Yes, I have read ever post & do keep up with the thread.

But it is pepinfaxera that deserves the credit. . :+1:

pepinfaxera has tirelessly kept up with & updated the list. His work has been stellar in every way!!

So a big THANK YOU to pepinfaxera!! .

And a huge THANK YOU to ToyKeeper also!! . .

Fritz got exactly what he wanted; a one of a kind mini triple. Why go any further? :weary:

I understand people’s lives change drastically, even overnight. But for 2 separate users to vanish, yet log in every other month without a word to anyone; seems odd.

It just rubs me wrong when I see 60+ new posts on this thread and I think “Fritz finally came back and gave the OK.” Instead its more people signing up and more speculation

Well, according to fritz15 himself; on 2 June 2018 he was perfectly fine with the ‘tapered design’ and in fact stated “he liked it”.

So unless he has a post that supersedes the 2 June post, that is all we know.
Fritz said “he liked it”.

Certainly, there are a lot of signs that make one wonder what is going on, why, and how, or if, this will eventually work out. I can’t imagine, though, after all this time, it will just fade away. I hope I’m not wrong.

This theory has already been said multiple times. Each time, the user had to be reminded that Fritz has his own lathe and can make whatever flashlight he wants. He does not need a big company to make a one-off light just for him.

But some of us do.

I can’t speak for everyone, but my handraise for this project has cost me absolutely nothing. Sure, I wish I’d had it in Q4 of last year, but I’ve neither put money down nor had to go without keeping the funds ready.

+1 . Well stated… I like it.

Thanks RC

Its weird not to write anything since june last year… Fritz where are u

Not the exact word I would use, but I do not disagree with your opinion.

This is my opinion, and what I am going to say applies to anyone in any situation… myself included.

When people are depending on you & your input about something, so that it may come to completion… there is absolutely no excuse on earth to just ‘disappear & go totally silent’ unless you are dead, totally incapacited , or lost in a remote wilderness area. No excuse at all.

It makes no difference if life happens, you lose interest, you get mad, whatever.

It takes about a minute or two to make a short post or send an email saying you quit & pass the torch on to someone else.

We have seen that happen in the case of the BLF GT where the lead person just vanished at a critical time in the project. Thankfully Texas_Ace picked up the torch & straightened out the mess that project was left in…. seeing it through to completion. Without TA & JasonWW, who tirelessly answered an untold number of questions… over & over & over & over; the BLF GT project might well have been a disaster.

And with this project the same thing has happened to some degree. The keeper of the list disappeared first & the designer next. Toykeeper has taken up the torch as best she can to keep this project on track…. which I can only imagine is totally frustrating to her as she receives little info to even give us updates about. :person_facepalming:
And pepinfaxa graciously took on the task of straightening out & keeping the list.
If they had not done what they have done… who knows where this project would be?? :person_facepalming:

Anyway…. except for fhe reasons mentioned above there is no excuse to not at least say “I quit”. To not do so is rude, crude, & socially unacceptable…… no matter who the person or what the situation.

This is my opinion…… yours may vary. . :+1:

Is the “team” section oft the first post still up-to-date? The one with the persons involved and their role in the project.

I am fairly new to the TLF and BLF but I guess I could relay some messages if the persons involved in the production/design over here would want that.

I will ask in the TLF thread about the whereabouts of Fritz/Cawi in the meantime as I am interested on their perspective.

Edit: In the second thread for preordering on TLF I read that ToyKeeper contacted Bluzie from the TLF (Admin and part of TLF forum’s team) - so I guess my help as a message broker isn’t needed after all
