(prototype) the GT Mini

I’d like to ask a question I couldn’t get an answer elsewhere. I just could find one runtime graphic on google, showing that the GT mini steps down to around 10% of the output in the first 3 minutes? Can anyone confirm that? Thank you.

hm yes it does stepdown, but not to like 10%, a few hundreds lumens less but how much i cant say exactly.

Has anybody measured and plotted a runtime graphic?

My GT mini has just arrived, I’m in China right now and bought directly from Lumintop. I got the neutral white version. I like it so far, waiting to get dark to test it.

I don’t know if I got lucky, but the flat on the body is perfectly aligned with the button.

I have not seen any for this light.

ZeroAir’s review of the GT Mini has a runtime graph…

However, the GT Mini sample ZeroAir got appears to have a lower max current (his measured lux/throw are lower than spec), I believe his sample may be one of the few reported to have lower current (GT Mini supposed to have 5.5-6Amps on max FET; but there are reports of people getting only 3-4.5 amps, thus not hitting the rated throw of 700+ meters)…

AFAIK, the maximum current on unmodified GT Minis was about 4.5A. Mine reaches up to 6.2A now with bypassed springs.

My CW light is stock. With a 30Q I see 5.5A. Maybe it was the NW lights that drew around 4.5A max?

That's possible as I have bought the NW version. According to Banggood it's up to 17W / 4.5A

"Use 17W, 4.5A FET drive, standby current is 27μA when shutting down"

https://usa.banggood.com/Lumintop-BLF-GT-mini-18650-LED-Flashlight-Portable-Mini-Torch-Camping-Light-p-1335341.html

My NW light is stock. With a 30Q I see 5.8A

Because of the rattling in one of my GT Mini's I didn't use that light. Now that I started playing with it I discovered that there are more problems with this light. Sometimes when I push the switch nothing happens. Then when switched on it sometimes jumps straight to turbo mode.

Unless I missed someone, I count 19 people to date who have posted about switch problems. They are….

List updated. Icarus Added, 9 January 2019

I added you to the list Icarus, keep us posted. Good luck…… :+1:

Can anybody confirm me if the top of the ramp is 50 or 80% brightness? The manual says 50, but I’ve read in some places that it’s 80%.

It depends on how you measure it. It’s probably 80% of the ramp steps which is about 50% the lumens.

I got 700 (2.8A) lumen at top of ramp and 1200 (5.5A) lumen on turbo. So make of it what you will.

So it means if we use the ramping UI, we can’t access between 50 and 100% lumens? That’s not cool.

I also found what appears to be a firmware bug. See if anyone can reproduce it.
In ramping UI, with strobes disabled, if the ramping is at maximum (50%), double click turns on turbo, but double click again turns off the flashlight.
If ramping is at any other brightness other than maximum, double click turns on turno and double click again returns to the previous ramped brightness.

I’m pretty sure yesterday it worked well, today it’s not working. I performed a factory reset and nothing changed. My firmware is 1.3.

Any tips?

It’s only like 1 step. There is not a lot of difference.

This has been discussed before. Was it not in this thread? Maybe it was another GT Mini thread. It’s just a quirk.

Thank you Jason for your help!
