My FT02 switch have no light at ALL!

I did not understand because you were not clear.

It seems like your switch light is broken. You can see that the green light works in this video.

So the picture in post 1 is correct.

I am in. i would like one

I just received my NW version and wanted to check what everyone gets at the bottom of the ramp. My understanding was the lowest output was 1 lumen but I get a much higher figure.

I would estimate around 100 lumens is the lowest output. Did the specs change?

I believe bottom of the ramp is different from the lowest output. To get the lowest output, or moonlight, you have to start with a light off and then press and hold the switch. Then you release the switch as soon as the light turns on.

I received the FT02 (4000k version) that I bought for a friend. Some quick impressions:
*the flashlight looks and feels nice and high-class, the reflector looks really smooth.
*the tint of the hotspot is really good. Although it is above the BBL at lower modes (right on the BBL at max), it does not look like that, it is not green or ugly at all.
*the ramping works pretty nice, the lowest mode I measured at 24 lumen when cold, 29 lumen when the light is warmed up. Long press from off does not give a lower mode than that.
*the switch leds do indicate things when you press the switch but I have no idea what. When the switch is not operated the switch leds do not light, wether the flashlight on or off. I will look into the manual what it does do.
*at max I measured 1780 lumen (on a 30T, but a lower drain battery, or half-full gives the same output, and it is pretty steady). This is lower than specified, I expected that the neutral tinted led has somewhat lower output but 19% lower is a bit more than the difference between a cool and neutral (71CRI) led.
*at max I measured 140 kcd, again lower than expected.

Overall this seems a very nice and balanced flashlight, still have to measure current but it does not become hot fast at all.

The rated output of 2200 was always fantasy. 1780 lumen is really good.

Thanks for the information. I was worried that I was missing something on the low setting. Its not 2 lumens.

I just read the manual: six clicks when off got me the breathing light effect when the light is off. Will measure parasitic drain in a moment……

Done: with breathing switch enabled, the current varies from 4.27 to 5.30 mA (draining a 40T in 35 days), without breathing, so no switch light, it still is 4.15 mA, does not help much. I know that in the Q8 the MCU goes to sleep in a while, lowering the parasitic drain to almost nil, so I waited 2 minutes but I still get 4.15 mA.

So when storing the flashlight with battery requires unscrewing the tail a bit (the tail seems the same type as the D4 so even when the anodisation in the threads wear out, the lock-out still works).

Got mine nw today. Led not perfectly centered but not really noticeable in the beam. Nice creamy white tint. Measured 2150 lumens and 185kcd with 30q. So not bad at all.
Light feels real good in the hand. Nice ergonomics with placement of the switch. I would have preferred just a tad more aggressive Knurling on the handle.
The cons are lowest lumen is not 1 lumen. Couldn’t measure with ceiling bounce, but looks to be about 35 lumens.
The ramping sucks. Ramps up way too fast. And the ramping down is not smooth and also fast. From turbo, it looks like it steps down to high, then it ramps down from there.
But, here’s the funny thing, when you are to get to turbo via double click, and now when you ramp down, it’s smooth and ramp is slow.
Only when you ramp up to turbo, and want to ramp down, is when it jumps to high mode and ramps down.
Overall, still a good buy in my eyes.

Mine arrived just an hour ago, I only had like 20min to get some impressions yet.

The LED is centered and the reflector looks nice and clean. The Sofirn 2170 fits snugly. I actually like the ramping, although it is not as precise as with my Q8.
Lowest level is reachable via ramping for me, i guess 30ish lumens at this level.

I am just wondering what impovements had been done on the firmware, djozz already showed the high drainage current in off-state which was present on the prototype and i noticed an early stepdown when getting around 40°C …so pretty much no difference to the prototypes reviewed last year :weary:

all in all i am still ok with this buy, but I get the impression mateminko/banggood rushed the release!

I get the feeling that Astrolux was trying to create their own little version of Narsil, kind of like how Haikelite tried. These imitations never seem to be as good, though. Narsil has a lot of refinement as far as the ramp speeds and button timings, thermal management, etc…

People complain about FET+n designs being primitive and not good, but my opinion is that in practice you do bot notice that at all. works fine, while you do notice a good UI.

I received my NW yesterday and all I had handy to try it with was a 30Q (21700 on the way) and it seemed to get very warm a bit quicker than I would have thought.

I notice above that blueb8allz ran it with 30q but no mention of it running warm ….so a question for you all …… Can I expect the flashlight to run a bit cooler with the Liitokala 40A that I’m getting ?

I admit it’s only had 10 mins of my time so I haven’t really given it a thorough run or look over yet

If it makes you feel better by calling me dumb dumb or the like… go for it…I can take it !!!

Technically, the battery shouldn’t matter too much as far as heat generation since this light uses a boost driver. As long as the voltage is high enough, it’s always going to put the same load on the LED.

Of coarse, a bigger battery means the voltage will stay higher for a longer time. Higher drain batteries can also sometimes be better due to less voltage sag.

Thanks JasonWW

FT02 vs ODL20C which one is better in overall ?

Lol, I almost bought a 21700 because I didn’t think I received the adapter, but I noticed the tube seemed a bit shallow so I unscrewed it and unexpectedly found it.

I would like to request a code for the FT02. Thank you.
