Got my copper S2+ single and custom thin ring in. Machining is great as always. Threads for both the pill and custom ring were very smooth. Especially the custom ring that thing is like butter. Heat transferred well to the body of the light even without any thermal paste on the pill.
If you have a FET or boost single or the copper S2+ host you should be using this no questions asked…
Sorry?
I posted link with g_damian build photos that shows how the ring is used in M2 build.
S2+ triple pills, spacers and P60 shells should be restocked in the end of January.
Well used my last kiriba-ru P60 Quad copper pill. This is how to wake up an old Surefire 6P that was bored and hone to fit a VTC5A and press fit the copper P60 using these new V2 emitters. I mixed 2 5000k and 2 6500k to blend tints, well the output and tint are outstanding!
The Z59 tail cap is stripped and modded with a 10amp KAN9 Fwd Click switch 18awg bypass on one of Blue’s springs. Z41 bezel with double coated AR lens. Mtn. Guppydrv 3 FET+1 that the FET was changed to an Infineon FET 18awg Leads. Mtn. Quad Copper mcpcb Lumileds V2 6500k and V2 5000k emitters.
4500lm+ out of the Old Surefire 6P It was worth all the hours of hand fitting and polishing the pill/host for a nice smooth press fit, no need to copper wrap for heat transfer.
Can’t remember how many of these P60 pills I used of kiriba-ru’s, they are outstanding and I’m going to need 3 more when they are ready… thanks my man!
Thanks for the quick reply. One of the things I was wondering was if there were screw holes.
Also how it compared in size to the usual C8 head.
Thanks again and good luck with sales.
Non of my parts made for quad or triple mod used to have screw holes. Avoiding them makes parts more simple and build more user-friendly.
It is 9mm shorter than usual C8 head.
Little update related with restocking popular products.
S2+ pills are as cheap as never but dont have slots for screwing. It was never a problem for my own builds, hope this is not biggest disappointment.
P60 quad pills now have two versions supposed to close two most popular request - make it cheaper and make it bigger.
Aluminium version is made to fit any host, with or without copper foil.
Copper version have bigger fit size and it should be possible to find a combination of drop-in and brand host for great press-fit (with or without little sanding). Cheap hosts are usually oversized by 0.4-0.6mm so this version should still fit any cheap host with ot without copper foil.
Both have regular 5mm depth under driver cavity - I have spend lots of machine hours in deeeep driver pockets before (but never saw someone actually used this opportunity).
You can check first post with actual photo.
Slots are necessary to screw bare pill in and out from the host. In real life you never need this. First you build an assembly (pcb with leds+pill+driver), tight the driver retaining ring hard and after you fit this sandwich in the head. For screwing whole assembly in and out you can use holes or slots in the driver retaining ring.
Just to clarify, the copper pill you are selling does thread into the head but can’t fully tighten without slots. You are suggesting to use the retaining ring (which does have slots), to screw into the head and force the pill down? Is that friction between the two pieces enough to rotate the pill?
