Polaris Premium Roof Light Upgrade Help

I have a 2015 Polaris RZR and bought the Polaris premium roof because it’s an all in one design, Bluetooth stereo, speakers, charger, interior and exterior lights. Seems light a no brainer to me. It is a great unit except the lights are absolutely horrible, the side lights are 800 lumens and all shine in a 4’ spot 20’ in front of my RZR, the center light is 2000 lumens and lights a 10’ wide path 20’ infront of me. I want to take these lights out and replace them but I can’t as they are proprietary to the roof. I can take the lights out and swap the LED’s though… Problem is that I don’t have a clue how to due it strong and bright. As its for off road it has to be tough as this would be my first mod I dont really want to swap the drivers/LED/heatsink/optics, I would prefer to let an experianced person handle this project. Question is… Who would I ship these to to get retrofitted into something usable? I’m hoping someone on this board would have an interest in such an endeavor otherwise I would have to find a local company. Can you guy’s recommend anyone who you think would be interested in such a thing

Problem is someone’d have to take a look at it first to see if it’d even come apart without requiring major surgery.

Those plates up front might just unscrew, letting you take out the TIRs (at least that’s what they look like) and somehow get to the LEDs.

If you want “brighter”, it’d mean not just swapping LEDs to something more efficient, but possibly replacing the TIRs to a different beam type (narrower, wider, oblong, etc.) to give something better, as well as upgrading the drivers, and last of all, making sure everything can handle all the extra heat.

Without knowing allllllllll those details up front, no one in his right mind would agree to touch it.

Doing it to your own light, you’d be responsible for making those choices, and living with the results, whether the improvement would hardly be noticeable, or if it’d be way brighter but cook itself to death.

Someone else doing those mods? I’d expect to see youse on “Judge Judy” or something.

Hi lightbringer  I mentioned it would take swapping out the LEDs, drivers, heatsinks and optics. For my first mod that is way to much of an undertaking. If someone were to express interest I could easily remove the lights, take them apart and show some pics.

No worries.

If those would be able to be removed almost as modules, it’d go that much easier.

Being proprietary Polaris, what is the actual input voltage? Only ask cause a buddy wanted some lights on his ATV and couldnt get it to work…. It had 12V AC that he connected to.
Only way for anyone here to help would be to open it up and show us some detailed pics of the emitters and drivers.

Sounds good, I’ll take one apart and post some pics soon

I would start where power goes in.

I looked at one of these a few years ago. It’s wired 3s5p coming out of a pod that also works all the toys added in. Stereo, speakers, underside lights (little 5mm led’s with a lens), rear red lights. It’s tight and little to no extra room under the LED’s Sorry it’s not really built for improvement. However this guy is one of us http://www.mtnlitebar.com Even one of the 6” bars will light up the night.

I have always wondered why one of these wouldn’t work with an inverter/quick (dis)connect mount given the amount of times that many of us night ride and any who-cares-what-it-looks-like-or-where-its-mounted attitude when we do. Whether it will hold up is anybody’s guess yet properly engineered mounting would obviously help. I can vouch for the output of another very similar 150 watt light from Morris Lighting. Pretty much instant daylight with surprisingly decent throw for what it is. The Westgate model (LF3) I have gathering dust currently will ether go outside or on the same application as yours someday for fun. https://www.westgatemfg.com/catalog/product/view/id/32795/s/lf4-150ww-tr/category/27/

Why not light up the entire area for large animals trying to get in the cab and light well down the trail?
Seems worth a try at what some of these area lights can be had for in comparison to light bar pricing/performance per lumen. Parallel discussion here: Reasonably priced LED yard light ('wow')..any others out there?
(Edit: I remember paying around $200 for the Morris and LF3 yet apparently they’re now approx. $235 shipped which isn’t in my opinion much for the output if it holds up).
