Re : Harbor Freight Tools Quantum 3 D

A “Winner” for You maybe.
But I will put that HF light up against a couple Defiant Flashlights from Home Depot for way less, like $8 on clearance that have real Cree emitter if you want to compare china to china.
No HF flashlight will beat the Defiant Super thrower, verse yourself on those reviews and mods here on the mighty BLF then go find one on Epay and you will never brag your HF light again.
Right here;

This was before you were joined to BLF so you get a pass for maybe not knowing about possibly the best department store flashlight on the past 6 years.
Peace

Well I’ve concluded two things. Edited: Three things.

1). Mmalive does NOT work for MagLite.

2). Mmalive works for Quantum.

3). MMalive is proud the Quantum is 100% Made in China.

:open_mouth:

By your logic...

1). raccoon city works for Kershaw.

(I wish!)

Oh come on everyone knows that
Word on the street is there will be Raccoon edition Kershaw soon.

:open_mouth: Wait…… YOU don’t?

WTF. Nuthin’ in this whirled makes cents anymore. :student:

PS. I always first kinda figured ya worked for the San Diego Zoo or the Wild Animal Park - the raccoon city deal.

Then I finally concluded you prolly twerked, oops I meant worked, for a modeling agency.

Butt ya know watt I just realized is even more amusing?

The OP thinks 536 Lumens coming out of a BAF (Big Azz Flashlight) is really sumthing!

Does he realize there are single AA sized flashlights coming outta Beijing these days putting out more lumes than this 3D Quantum? I mean this is prolly NOT the best Mag Slayer model ya wanna parade around here, MM.

I’m just really trying HARD to get EXCITED about this incredible amazing offering tho’.

     ……(Oh Gaw’d jest lemme catch me breath fer a sec, ok…… )……

PS. OOPS! It’s actually 534 lumens. I overstated this mighty Mag substitute by 2 lumes.

I’ve got nothing to critique about the Harbor Freight flashlight. I’ve never tried it. I’m just lost as to why the comparison against Maglites took the turn it did.

Does Maglite claim to be 100% made in the USA? I don’t recall ever seeing that.

I do know they have a gripe with California law, because it forbids claiming “Made in the USA” if any part of a product is made outside the US, in contrast with federal law and 49 other states, which require they be “substantially” or some similar term with unclear, but implied meaning that is left for the courts to interpret.

Get off your rocker guy. I owned many Defiant lights. See my postings guy. China built for sure. I own quite few high powered lights listed below. Just some of them.

BLF GT, Imalent DX80, Nitecore Tiny Monster TM 28, MF Tactical Mini Monster, Acebeam , etc….

Maglite PALES in comparison to any of these.

I fully agree to spend my money on 100 % made products. Meaning 100% PERIOD. Not just some parts.

Do not tell me about store bought lights man. Got away from those a long time ago.

BTW, I bought the Quantum out thew door for $12.50 with coupons discounts, etc…

Answers to

1. True Maglite customer service SUCKS big time

2. No I do not work for Quantum China based company. They would pay peanuts.

3. Wrong. Prefer to spend money on 100% produced products. NOT some parts.

Hey I heard HF is gonna give away those Quantum 3D’s FREE with every purchase of a MagLite. :open_mouth:

“There’s nuthin’ like a Mag to play tag on some perp’s head.”

Sgt. Joe Friday, Ret.

Duh,
Your Harbor Fright wonderlight is a store bought light.
Rest my case.

True story, the only flashlight I’ve ever bought from HF is a MagCharger and extra NiCad packs for it. All HF flashlights have been free.

Well, Let’s get some facts straight here.

I NEVER claimed Quantum is far ” superior ” to Maglite. Read entire post.

I support 100% USA made products. All components of build. Not parts out sourced overseas, etc….

Ooh, I DID NOT go into HF to buy Quantum,. Bought some power tools for project. Happen to have DISCOUNT coupons expiring I had to use.

Quantum at $12 and some change out the door. A “NO BRAINER ” for sure.

I assume you mean “100% made in the USA products,” but you’ve repeated just “100% made products” several times, so it seems worth clarifying.

Anyways, what brands have a higher percentage of made in the USA content than Maglite?

Maybe Surefire? I don’t know. If I remember right, Streamlight is assembled in the USA, but from what I’d read in the past, it sounded like nearly all of the components were foreign sourced.

And I reiterate my puzzlement from above: why are we going in circles on this discussion? I have so far been unable to find any place where Maglite claims to the 100% made in the USA.

Yes, 100% percent made in USA.

None of the components your computers or smartphones have (that are being used here right now) are 100% made in the USA. Heck none of them are even 5% made in USA components. Oh well…

I picked up one of these Quantum Work Light jobs… LINK. Actually not bad for $7. It doesn’t have that enormous obnoxious “Quantum” label as shown in 1st photo — it’s actually quite a bit smaller. Not much of a spread in brightness for the 2 modes, but still usable. The magnetic tailcap is strong. Has a clip with hook hole in it. All metal body feels reasonably rugged, but plastic covering over COB array is rather junky.

There’s a more expensive model by “Braun” (not the German company) that’s $39.95. Looks pretty decent, with 390 lumens, 360 degree pivoting head, and it’s rechargeable with lithium ion cell (they don’t say what type—maybe 18650?).

I did buy a folding one for less, almost as bright, but also has a forward pointing 5mm LED for minor task work. Actually a pretty good deal. GearBest has one.

Correct 18650. Unscrew tail cap. I used CR123A x 2 in light as well. Runs hot though.

What the heck is wrong with you people? Seriously!!
Why attack a person for sharing a good deal he found?
Came here to see possible good deal, sickened by the foolish toxicity.
Geez.

Agreed man. BUT do not take seriously. Comments made by those guys indicate ignorance or inability to fully understand purpose of this forum.

I come from Technical/Engineering background and deal with these type of comments/opinions on a constant basis. I do not it bother. My comments are of fact not bs coming from professional perspective side.
