Astrolux is always on the high side of numbers. I never see more than 2236 lumens from SST40 in my N4 BA builds and I use very low resistance. Springs all bypassed with wires. So I think it will never be 2400 lumens. It will be closer to 2000-2200 lumens. I don’t really like pumped up numbers and then you never achieve them. I better like lower rating and then if the light can do more I’m happy. I think Astrolux need to change that to 2000 lumens and 160000cd. That is more realistic. My Convoy L2 with that led made 2226 lumens and 172400 cd.
That is a beamshot of that so we can hope the beam look like this because reflector size is very close to L2. I really like the useful hot spot size and enough throw of that. But now it has a Luxeon V for warmer 4000K color. The trees on top are 100m far from the light.
It is a chunk of a flashlight, at 2000 lumen to warm up before you can not touch it may take more than 10 minutes, and with its surface area (even without a lot of fins) I estimate it can maintain the 2000 lumen without disasters. It will become too hot to the touch over time.
