Light Received !.
Need the kids to sleep so I can try this out in peace and happiness lol…
will update soon.

Big thanks Sir Bob.
Great Stuff.
A credit to BLF!.

Any updates?

the update for this is that this actually looks like ZL made this as it’s absolutely spot-on. does not look touched.

looks and feels just like it should be and the mod work is exquisitely professional.
the 4K 9080 is amazing in this little thing.
ZL need to learn from this.

hope this helps.

I will hope to buy from you again Sir Bobby.

Thanks, eagerly awaiting mine.

I was supposed to be finishing and shipping these four lights yesterday followed by three more today, but instead I’ve spent the last 24 hours asleep in bed and unable to sit up because of fatigue and aches. Get your flu shots, people :person_facepalming:

No rush, hope you feel better soon!

Back in the land of the living for the most part. My dog was so concerned he snuck upstairs and broke into my bedroom to sleep beside me! I should have those four lights done today (Thursday) and the rest done over the weekend. My sincere apologies to the couple people who I promised I’d ship to earlier this week.

has anyone used the diffuser fix on theirs?.
thinking about it.
thanks.

Can this mod be done on one of ZL smaller 18650 headlamps?

Theoretically any of the XP-L2 lights should be moddable this way. So far I’ve only tried the SC64c because it’s the only 18650 model. The AA XP-L2 straight lights are basically the same design but smaller. The AA headlamps use a different bezel which might not work as well for the method I use to open the light, but I haven’t seen one in person. You can always do a “smash and grab” to pull the bezel out from behind and hide any damage, but then you need an appropriate replacement lens.

Unfortunately Zebralight’s 18650 headlamps are all XHP and are mostly limited to the same type of LED already installed. The last generation high CRI models use XM-L2 EasyWhite which has the same issue. You have to go back to 2011 or earlier to find a model that would accept a 219B.

If you received a tracking number and were wondering why it didn’t work yet, it’s because I wiped out flat on my back on ice on Friday. O Canada! No major damage but I was definitely not making it to the post office that day. In any case, lots of goodies heading out today  I have three more left to do after this, then I’ll be able to take orders for further lights.

Just out of the box — OMG!
Mine is an SW45K — tint and team are just beautiful.
Thanks, Bob!

It’s also my first SC64. I have two SC62Ws, and I’ve always admired their tint and beams — until now.

I’m glad I had an extra unprotected 18650 because the 64 series is shorter than my 62s and the protected ZebraLight batteries I have are too long.

Jesus man, stay healthy and in one piece for us, will ya?!

Would one of the older H600s work? I’m not sure when each generation came out, and I’m guessing these are newer than a 2011 release, but IDK the Zebralight line back that far.

I’m still alive

Based on my research every light Zebralight has produced since 2012 has the integrated MCPCB. That means you have to go back as far as the original H600 from 2011 to get a headlamp with a separate MCPCB. You could theoretically convert one of these to something neat like quad E21A, but they’re getting pretty long in the tooth now. Obviously any 3V LED will work as long as you can work around the slightly unusual MCPCB shape and wiring.

I’m working on lights today. Two more left to finish after this. When I get them to the point they are ready to close, I do a runtime with ceilingbounce and also go through all the functions to double check there is no unusual behaviour before pressing the bezel.

Last three lights ready to ship

And some photos from yesterday.

Where there any more available for sale? I’m interested to get in on the SW45 goodness as well as try out a throwier SC64 :+1:

Please send me a PM and I’ll add you to the list. I’ve been trying to purchase more lights to mod for a few weeks now, but it’s very difficult to get in touch with ZL and they don’t have enough available on their site. I’m starting to suspect they are discontinuing the SC64c in favour of the LE version, but they are the same light with a different LED so either works fine for this mod. I just need to be able to buy them :person_facepalming:

Just tell me this won't work for a Luxeon V and I can stop worrying about how I can't afford it.

I have a crappy update. I’ve been trying to secure another supply of lights to mod from Zebralight, but the SC64c is about to be discontinued and has limited availability; while the LE version will work fine, it’s perpetually backordered, and they have no idea when I might expect to receive an order at this point.

I’ve ordered Zebralights from nkon before, so I contacted them and registered to be notified when they had stock of the new LE. Today they received 20 units, and I tried to order 10. Transaction declined. Tried another card, transaction declined. Tried PayPal, transaction declined. Then I spent 45 minutes on hold with my bank trying to get a security block lifted on the transaction while I watched it slowly sell out. And to top it off I accidentally hung up when they finally got back on the line.

So that was my day. I’m trying to find out if nkon will receive more stock any time soon or if Zebralight can give me a solid answer on when an order I place now will actually ship.
