Sorry to hear that you have problems with the 46R :zipper_mouth_face: So far mine are working fine (10R and 46R, this one bought in the NW groupbuy).
The “glued” parts are common, for what I’ve seen. Only some of the first 46R came with head unglued. With a rubber strap wrench and some force the head will eventually come out. I guess all the TO10R have the tail glued, though.
I believe - the - will address those eventual issues (if they exist) before they leave the factory
Any rough idea of when this will become available? I’ve been holding out for a month and a half with a much-needed upgrade for my daily bike commute flashlight… Ha, and I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out!!
Definitely interested. I’d prefer USB-C, but USB chargeabiluty is only a secondary feature for me so it’s not a deal breaker. To be honest the size, shape, cell type and high reported efficacy of Maukka’s test sample are what hooked me.
Yes I’ve cleaned the contacts and tried with my other 18650’s I had on hand and it has same issues with all of them (AW Black 2200mAH, Eagletac 3400, Samsung 30Q). I think it’s just a failed driver. It’s joined my faulty Olight S30RII Baton as drawer dust collector (it fell from waist height onto kitchen tile floor and now only lights up in moon mode).
I always charge my batteries in a proprietary charger. Prefer non built in charger because mostly incorporate unreliable rubber flap. Built in charger is just a bonus that can be removed or permanently filled with epoxy if not desired. Micro USB is better than none. It could be replaced by simple receptor swap I guess. Never done any so far.
