Positive Comments about Neal Zhang owner of Neals Gadgets

I have bought several flashlights from Neals Gadgets. Have chatted with Neal online several times. He is very helpful and will take time to discuss different lights, whether you like throwers or flood type lights. He may let you know if he can offer an especially good price on particular model of flashlight.

What made me want to post this was on a recent order I was sent the wrong model flashlight by mistake. It was not a real expensive light, but i contacted him via there store chat and explained the situation. I did not want to waste both of our time and money shipping the light back to China, (and to flashaholics you know you can never have to many lights) I do not want to be to specific, but he agreed to send the original light i had ordered and sell me a second more expensive light that i had been wanting at a price that i thought made the overall transaction very fair.

I was impressed, Neal is an honest business owner and he wanted to keep the customer happy.

I highly recommend other budgetlight members consider supporting Neal’s Gadgets, i think you will find his prices are competitive (or better) than the big China retailers and you can talk to a real person that knows the flashlight business extremely well.

I’m in on this one. I have placed 5 or 6 orders with Neal and everything has been great. Packaging is by far the best of any overseas distributor I have ever bought from. Couldn’t ask for better service. Thanks Nealsgadgets. Thank you Larry Smock, this is a deserved thread in my opinion.

I will also join the thread - been purchasing from Neal >10 lights for more than year, there was only one problem, which was caused by my special request, but Neal took care immediatly.

Glad to see this thread. Sad it had to come this far, because of the Neal-bashing of some members.
Doing business with Neal is and was always a pleasure. His aim is to keep the customer (satified).
That is far better than the “there is one born every minute”-attitude of some sellers.
Neal knows a satified customer is a lasting customer. And he is doing his best to keep it that way.

people tend to shout loud if there is a minor problem but seldom say "thanks" over many positive events.

Yes, my personal experiences with Neal are very positive, and I try to stick to that in my judgement of people.

(Whatever went wrong with Neal and Banggood and the fact that others have had negative experiences with him for me is second-hand information, may be valid for others but I can not be sure that I hear the whole story, and both sides of it. What I do not know is that if I was in the same situation of people that judge him negatively, if I would think the same. So I keep to my own experiences.)

Neal had bought only three lamps from now. My experience is very good and I will definitely buy other items at Neal.
With BG, I also have good experience even when the goods have become inoperative or the consignment has been lost.
With GB, the experience is worse and I only buy cheap items.

I have not read the negative comments or dealt with Neal but I have perused his site.
Any idea why some lights have a sale price listed on the main page but when clicked on, the price is much much higher?

It uses “versions”, each with its own price under the same “product” and it seems like one “version” is considered default and its price is displayed as the product’s price. So a BLF GT’s price is $200 but on products gallery it shows $10. Why? Because the lens “version” costs $10 and it’s the default “version” for BLF GT. Now, default “version” could always be “the cheapest version” or selected by hand, I don’t know how he chose to use it. I don’t like it but that’s how it works.

I would be happy to order from Neal and I will in the future. The thing that holded me back in the past is that he doesn’t seem to have europe-friendly shipping options (same day pass through Dutch or Swedish customs and avoid waiting for a month or two for customs clearance in my country) as BG and GB has. The difference is 2 weeks vs 8 weeks delay and the cost is usually $4.5 for shipping vs - for example - the 30euros I payed for a 20 euros flashlight which passed my country’s customs + a couple of $$ for the actual shipping tracked.

I have never had any dealings with Neal so I can’t form a educated opinion of the man. I only know what I have read. There are always two sides to a story and the truth usually lies somewhere in between those two stories. Sort of like stereotypes, part of the stereotype is usually true. Then blown out of proportion and exaggerations added. Now that whole $10 thing is something that happens on Ebay all the time. Click bait. Picture of nice product with really low price so you will click on it, then you are greeted with a drop down menu where you select the actual product you want and find out it’s way to expensive. Kind of shady advertising really. I have had a few dealings with M4DM4X before and he has always been very helpful and a seemingly nice guy. If he says Neal is okay then that is good enough for me. That being said, the negatives still sticks in my head. Word of mouth from people I trust usually goes a long way for me.

In the future, if there is a light I am wanting and Neal carries it, I may just have to give him a try. Guess I will never know unless I at least give the man the benefit of the doubt. I have protection from PayPal if I ever need to use it. I haven’t had to use it yet in all these years but, it’s a nice security blanket to have.

I will go check out his site now and see if anything peaks my interest.

I have purchased 3 lights from him and communication has been really good using facebook. He doesnt check emails though which is weird.

But so far he has been really good!

I bought a light recently and am very pleased. Shipping was fast and +1 on the packaging. Neal saved me a lot on a light I wanted and would not have been able to buy otherwise.

I ordered few times from Neal and no problem at all.

He once sourced some 14500’s for me he didn’t even list at the time when I asked him if he can find some. That made me very happy as I can’t buy any local and only option at the time was aliex.
