Ragsy:
I received my NW yesterday and all I had handy to try it with was a 30Q (21700 on the way) and it seemed to get very warm a bit quicker than I would have thought.
I notice above that blueb8allz ran it with 30q but no mention of it running warm ….so a question for you all …… Can I expect the flashlight to run a bit cooler with the Liitokala 40A that I’m getting ?
I admit it’s only had 10 mins of my time so I haven’t really given it a thorough run or look over yet
If it makes you feel better by calling me dumb dumb or the like… go for it…I can take it !!!
Technically, the battery shouldn’t matter too much as far as heat generation since this light uses a boost driver. As long as the voltage is high enough, it’s always going to put the same load on the LED.
Of coarse, a bigger battery means the voltage will stay higher for a longer time. Higher drain batteries can also sometimes be better due to less voltage sag.

Received my CW version on 1/3/19…it took about a month to the US once shipped. I like it very much, thanks Freeme!
At first I couldn’t find the 21700 adapter and figured it didn’t ship with the flashlight. I then tried to insert a 21700 battery and it stuck out an extra 1” preventing the cap from getting anywhere near the battery tube thread. I looked down the battery tube and noticed that the battery contact seemed to be a little high. I unscrewed the battery tube from the head and discovered the 21700 adapter sitting at the bottom of the tube.
Lol, I almost bought a 21700 because I didn’t think I received the adapter, but I noticed the tube seemed a bit shallow so I unscrewed it and unexpectedly found it.

How do you answer this? There is no real answer. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. It’s up to you to decide which one you prefer.

The title says FT02 (X) XHP35 Hi /XHP50.
Does that mean the FT02 = XHP35-Hi, and there will be another version called FT02(X) that uses XHP50?

I haven’t seen or heard anything about the 50.2 version. I’m starting to think that they’ve decided not to produce it. Maybe the xhp35-HI version did not sell well enough? Who knows. We just have to wait and see what they decide.

Which would surprise me because IMO I think this is maybe the best thrower out there that is still a managable size, a great compromise!
