Bye bye led's

A laser light.

Interesting !

All I read is marketing-wank.
Everything that they claim is possible with LEDs as well.

Has laser as well

Nice. Thanks for the link.

More information regarding laser lighting products from Quartz:

I am sure both technologies with just keep getting better. Leds and lasers are both based on the same basic principles of physics.

Corrected:

10x more intense beam, but 4-5x lower brightness.

It’s not brighter, just higher intensity.
Lots of marketing there.

so we can make 10 times more cd than with LED, nothing new LEP

but car head lights are already limited to max lumen, beam pattern and intensity by law in most countries so that they are already bumped against those limits with conventional non LED technologies

eventually I hope we start getting better adaptive headlights like these

Unless they Engineer to replace correctly HIGHLY unlikely for disolving LED.

Casio had been using lasers for their projectors for a long while now…

What’s cool about it is that it’s an all-in-one package about 7mm square by about 1.5mm thick… and can come pre-mounted on a star PCB!

Audi is apparently already doing something with this…I think. There’s conflicting information all over the place about whether they using LEDs or LEPs in their matrix beam lights.

Regardless, the idea as I understand it is that laser-excited phosphors can have very small emitting areas, which, allows more precise control of the beam shape is possible. That means its easier to distribute the maximum allowed lux evenly where it is needed, and minimize light wasted where it is not needed or needs to not be (the eyes of oncoming drivers).

From what I understand it’s also directional as the driver can actually change the direction of the light as well.
