Sofirn SP70 Alone $50, PM for AMZ US CODE(LIMITED)

We are thinking about the SP70 Pro: XHP35 HI in the middle for more throw, several XHP35 or XHP50.2 surround the XHP35 HI for more power, maybe 15000LM

How is that? The challenge will the very high current.

By the way, we found high discharge 26650 cells: 4800mAh, max 24A current. Now Under test in SP70.

I can wait but what about single XHP35 HI version for real thrower drive it to 2-2.5A that easier before go to multi LED

SP70 Pro sounds nice and the idea of an XHP35/XHP50.2 array sounds much more useful than Acebeam's X70 which is just another extreme bright floodlight with questionable range. However, looking at the actual reflector size of the SP70 it might be challenging to align several XHP emitters around the center LED without negative effects on the throw. I'm afraid it could lead to some cannibalization effect, i.e. the gain in brightness/power could lead to a loss in throw as the center reflector needs to be made smaller.

I would also love the idea if Sofirn were to develop a budget-friendly competitor to Imalents R90C (9x XHP35 HI) but without a proprietary battery pack. It should be feasible to run a light like this with 3x or 4x 21700 batteries.

Concerning 26650 batteries: The best high drain 26650s I could find so far are PLB-55A cells (also rewrapped as in "Keeppower 6000mAh" or "Shockli 5.500mAh"), see also here:

Maybe Sofirn could find a way to make a deal with PLB and offer these cells rewrapped as "Sofirn 26650" batteries, both in a SP70 Kit-version but also separately on their AliExpress shop. I'm pretty sure these would sell very well as they are hard to get in Europe, almost sold out all the time (see NKON) or only available at high shipping cost.

For some countries it appears that the only way to ship Li-Ions is if they are shipped inside the product. This would definitely be an opportunity for Sofirn and for customers.

Shockli has an aliexpress store… I have ordered from it, batteries are genuine and selection is good.

Here is the test outcome via 26650 HD batteries. Real close to 7000LM, futher than 700meter distance.

This is definitely better than the regular Sofirn 26650 batteries. A bit less than the Sofirn 21700. So there is still a little more performance to be gained if anyone wants to use a top high drain cell.

Will you be labeling these new batteries as a Sofirn brand or as the original brand and model?

We already talked about it. They might make it seperately later on, but the current light will have black anodized aluminum bezel to keep costs down.

1. SP70 will be a single emitter flashlight. How about:
SPX17? (the X could mark, that it is a more complex flashlight, and the 17 would mark, that it is 17 thousand lumens at maximum)
or
SPX144/SPX18 (similar, but marking emitters distribution, not thousand lumens)

2. I would suggest it this way:
one XHP35 HI for throw, let’s say it is about 2000 lumens with 200000 candela alone - 5000K 80 CRI (maybe reflector diameter is around 6.5 cm, SMO)
eight further emitters as below (alternating around a circle):
four XHP50.2 for comfortable flooding: let’s say it is about 1750×4 = 7000 lumens - 4500K 90 CRI (reflector diameter is around 3.5 cm, stronger OP texture)
four XHP35 HI for slightly more concentrated (intermediate) beam: 2000×4 = 8000 lumens - 5000K 80 CRI (reflector diameter is around 3.5 cm, SMO)
—> 17 000 lumens total, maybe user should activate these all simultaneously, or one by one (e.g. only flood or only throw, or flood + intermediate or throw + intermediate) - with at least one dedicated button

3. I would suggest 2 battery compartment serially connected as this: a single compartment could be of 3× 21700 batteries parallel, this will give not too thick battery tube, but a great possibility to support high current cells of 20-30 ampers and above (Vapcell / Shockli 4500mAh 20A /LS21700SF/ or Samsung INR21700-40T 30A - resulting a 13500mAh 8.4V battery pack capable of 60A continuous (max ~ 360W) or around 11000mAh 8.4V battery pack capable of 90A continuous (max ~540W) - also, Sofirn 21700 4000mAh ~15-20A could be good as well)

Actual flashlight power could be around 200-240W, but we need to over-design the battery pack to let the users have less battery strain, while using this flashlight.

7000 lumens is a good effort! I wonder what the throw numbers are? We can probably hit the 1km mark by slicing the dome?

Throw numbers are posted above. About 710 meters or 125Kcd.

Slicing the dome will definitely increase throw.

I doubt it. It was talked about in the GT70 tread & concluded that manufactures might not want or be able to do this correctly.

Don’t take that as an answer from Sofirn though. It is only my thoughts on the subject.

Thanks for the answer Teacher, there would be a great push if Sofirn could do that…. Even if manufacturers could not/would not do this properly,doesnt’t mean they couldn’t find somebody to do it,isn’t it? I mean it’s not the same finding someone to do 5 pieces or 500?

Just a slice is not that hard but it makes ugly yellow corona. If you want to do it like me to remove yellowness from corona it takes almost half an hour per led to make it right. That will raise the manufacturing cost very much plus it has high risk killing leds.
