Second Generation Silver Plated High Current Beryllium Copper Springs and 95+CRI SST20!

Oh boy. This is not too good.

No more SST-20s 3500k available now.

@Hodor, you have only been added 6 of the SST-20s 3500k, as there is no more space. Sorry :frowning: :frowning:

@RSlothMan, added, except for the SST-20 3500k part. :frowning:

Why are 3500 not available? Cant find any information in OP.

I don’t see my order updated: Second Generation Silver Plated High Current Beryllium Copper Springs and 95+CRI SST20! - #187 by g_damian

No worries. Thanks for adding the other 6.

I think it was mentioned earlier that Blue can only really buy in batches of 300 to get a good price. Unless we have enough interest for a full reel!

Can you do a waiting list in case people don’t buy what they have reserved (and if that waiting list reaches 300, there is the option to buy another batch)?

@AEDe, no more available to reserve.

People, do not worry.

Those who are on the list for the 3500k LEDs will receive them.

@g_Damian, it’s already been updated, but the update has not been posted, because the screenshot would not actually fit while being readable.

I will make the updated spreadsheet publicly available.

I see , thanks!

10 big springs
10 small springs
Thanks

Added to the list.

I received the early bird SST-20s a couple days ago and stuck them in a few lights. In a D1S I get 670 lumens and 550m throw compared to 1000 lumens and 670m stock. There seems to be a tendency towards a ring around the corona with smooth reflectors, though it’s a lot more prominent in the Convoy C8. The tint isn’t horrible but it’s not spectacular either. This is an sw35 219B beside the 3500K SST-20 in the D1S.

Yeah the ring is a problem.

It makes the beam so throwy in some reflectors that it makes a ring around it.

Also, at what level were you running the test?

I’ve found that at 1A, unlike the LH351D T6, the GA3 SST-20 sits just below the BBL. Above it, it becomes rosy.

It’s way better than the LH351D, and a bit better than the PL47 without taking into account the shift of CCT.

On that note, I know that SKV89 and Bob_McBob have received their LEDs.

Knowing this, that means most people will be receiving their LEDs by Friday, and next week.

Got mine today! Just opened them a min ago, well taped up. I should first put one in a D1 because my attempt at a sliced SST-40 in there didn't work out so well. Also got couple C8F hosts, so these will go in one for sure, then something smaller, not sure yet.

Will the SST-20 be ok in a D1? I thought they couldn’t/shouldn’t be used in single emitter fet lights?

It should be okay, as its forward voltage is still high enough to limit current to a low enough level to not burn up.

My stock 5000K D1 draws about 6A at the tail with a fresh VTC6. The SST-20 D1S is about 5.5A with a fresh GA (trying not to push my luck).

How is the 219B not dead in an Emisar D1S though?

Its forward voltage is quite a bit lower than even the SST-20, so even someone like Tom E/DB Custom wouldn’t dare put this emitter in a FET light.

That’s an SC64c on the left

Oh god I was worried :weary:

Also, guys, because of the Chinese Holiday, the manufacturer will not be able to make the springs until February 19th.

However, I’ve prepared all of the LED orders and the envelopes to ship when I receive the springs pretty much instantly after I receive them.
