Review - AccuPower - IQ338XL

I don’t see where anyone has done any kind of a review for this charger……I have one….should I?

Sure, go crazy…

Ok,
Pretty good charger for the money. $45.00. Can charge 4 D Cells at one time. (BIG plus for me)
Does Internal resistance
Charge Test
Discharge Test

Only shows the data for one slot at a time (ok by me, just press a button to change the display)
Makes everything large and easy to see.

Does 9v batteries too.

Shows all the usual mid range price stuff like voltage, mAh

You can charge at 4 levels, 500mAh, 700, 1000 or 1500mAh and you can charge 4 batteries at any of these levels at the same time.

Has a USB port ( I guess for charging a USB device)
No PC Link or anything like that.

Comes with power supply.
One thing it does not do that I would have liked is to make some sort of beep or chirp when the last cell in the device completed it’s process.

But for the $39.95 I paid, I like it. Seems to top batteries to their full point safely.

I’ll post some pictures when I get a chance. Sorry I don’t have tons of graphs or technical details.

Hope that wasn’t too crazy?

UPDATE - 01.28.2017+

After using it for about a month I noticed an anomaly.

I can take one battery and place it in each of the 4 slots one by one and get entirely different IR readings in every slot with quite a spread.
In addition, the IR can change as much as 20mAh just by removing it and re inserting it into the SAME slot.

So, I would say that the IR readings this thing gives are probably not accurate at all. But I think most chargers are similar.

awesome … now let’s do group buy

Wow what with this feature set and price I wonder why it is not mentioned alongside the usual suspects
This thing charges more types.
Thanks for bringing it up.

Don’t know?
For under $50.oo it does seem to be a good deal. When I bought mine they were only $39.95 with free delivery.
I see the price now is almost $50.00
Looks like he’s selling them at a rapid pace.

I needed a charger that could do 4 D-cells at one time.
There aren’t many. This one does.

I like it and it seems accurate when I’ve compared readings to those I get from my Turnigy Accucell 6

Just want to chime in here and tell you all from the features and results people are getting with this its a Deluxe version (wider to fit 4x D and 9v) of the Lii-500

and we have reviews for the Lii-500
from HJK

and me

Just curious about this Accupower IQ338XL — if it’s supposedly similar to the Lii-500 Engineer, then does it also inherit the unreliable IR testing of the Lii-500?

i for one think think the Lii-500 is VERY useful IR for ……Li-ion
its useless for Ni-mh

also the Lii-500 or some of its other OEM names VARICORE V40 or COLAIER Lii-500
goes for ~`$13-20 all the time at Ali Express

here is the lowest i found https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Colaier-lii-500-LCD-3-7V-1-2V-18650-26650-16340-14500-10440-18500-Battery-Charger/1721160_32959951908.html?spm=2114.12010609.8148356.8.343379c8oEUQyC

You have a Lii-500 that DOES IR?
I have 2, and passed along another, so 3. ALL of them the IR is completely useless. It’s not even erratic like other brands; Opus, Zanflare - common problem. I get the same readings for damn near everything.

IMO an IR variability of 20 for a consumer grade charger is decent. You can do a bit better sometimes if you clean the battery ends, clean the contacts (I use 2000 grit sandpaper), and then hold the contacts firmly while it reads. But that does not take care of the added resistance of the inside slider mechanism.

i was careful to say useful its not consistent but its very useful

I want to buy one USB C power adapter, who can give me some suggestions?

what is the difference between PD3.0 with QC3.0?

I usually use it to my new MacBook and Huawei Mate20 smartphones.

If anyone have some good choice, please send me the link.I prefer Amazon.

Thanks.

Not to be rude, but are you sure this is related to the topic of this thread?

I think he saw charger, and wanted some help. Didn’t see this.

1. It is a different protocol. Do not worry about it.

2. Here is a good charger if you have a Macbook(2015+) and a QC 3.0 capable device like the Mate 20:

If you want higher power(60W+), for now, you will have to get a 60W USB-C to USB-C. It will still fast charge your Mate 20, but not super charge it:
