You guys have me thinking more about paracord options. There are a couple recessed milled circumference rings on the SP 36 that might work with a loop of cord and then using a knot, (PBWilson) splice or a braid to create an anchor point or extend a lanyard.
All the paracord I have is 550 or 750 (4-5 mm) which won’t drop down into the slots. The groove on the head is about 2.5 mm wide and the less recessed groove near the base (my preference) is 1.7 mm. It looks like 325 and 275 cord are around 2 mm and could be used for the top groove and for the bottom I could use 95 cord (1.74 mm) or maybe microcord (1.18) might work but probably too thin.
Maybe I will put in an order to Paracord Planet of Sgt Knots for a few shorter lengths of all of them and see if they work.
I would really like to see the wrap Boaz did and I just might wrap the hole thing and tie a lanyard off of that.
Use the self sticks that contain ball joint . Take apart and drill hole into ball boint. Run key chain ring through. Thread the 1/4 threaded end into flashlight. Attach lanyard.
Those could be found at 99 cents store BUT will cost 1.99 though
Another cord option is nylon rope. Small engine repair shops sell small diameter starter rope. It has less stretch than paracord. You can also search recoil starter rope on Amazon for examples.
People asked for pics of my wrapped lights but they are not done very well ..OTOH the boruit R2 headlamp has been wrapped in dark blue shoelace since day one just proving that you don't have to have mad skills to tie one on .
I wrapped the BLF Q8 the day I got it because of the flats that I thought would bug me . They don't because I haven't seen them in years .I began wrapping the old SkyRay kings because the odd slits in the side of them seemed like a good place to get creative .
