Lumintop GT4

I can’t wrap my head around the diameter being the same as the GT70, but split into 4 smaller reflectors, AND throwing just as well as one well made GT70 reflector…?
I can see that it may throw insane lumens down range, but at some point wouldn’t it just ‘flare out ’?
By that I am imagining the 4 beams not being as tightly… collimated? So then at 500 yards the beams disperse….?

I traded GT for GT70 for more lumens downrange, de-domed to reclaim Some throw… but this new one confuses me…

It’s basically going to have the same throw, but the beam is going to be much wider due to much higher surface area and lumen output.

Because of this, the lumen/candela will be about 4x lower compared to the GT70.

Multi-emitter lights in my testing are generally a bit lower then a single reflector of the same size but not much lower.

The lower throw per emitter is made up for by having more emitters and more raw power.

Just what I have noticed over time. It is not a iron clad rule but has served me well.

Guaranteed at least 1.

Maybe they can take the extra ten seconds to make sure the flat of the battery tube lines up with the button this time instead of being a lottery.

Also this reminds me visually of my old Howitzer, which I loved but didn’t have the output you’d expect in such a huge torch today.

Sadly it is not possible due to the way the machining works. It has been tried many times but it is simply not possible to make it line up without a lot of manual labor to grind each piece individually by hand pretty much.

Is the intent to do a GB on this light?

+1 & Amen… :+1:

Very nice…

Interested!

Can't the flats be set to line up with the button by loosening the battery tube slightly until they line up then tightening the tailcap holding it in place? At least that what someone else recommended long ago and I have did ever since. Of course, that won't help to line up the strap attachment point.

;)

How 'bout some nice auxiliary LEDs? Would that be feasible like in the D4S or E07?

Lux-Perpetua cool idea they should do it, there is place for it

Something like the charging indicator in the Convoy BD01 would be coll too.
They use transparent centering-pieces with path through the MCPCB and shell to a LED on the driver.
You can see it here:

That BD01 indicator is nice!

What about having more length on the tube thread, so users can grind down a quarter or a half turn by themselves?

The battery tube can be indexed to any position you want on the GT and GT70, the anchor point on the head was the main complaint.

Ah thanks, now I remember.
