About 2 months ago I ordered from the same store and received everything. Just as a note, color 4 came as model 912s - 202 g of brass and strangely one wall was 2.5m, the other - 3.5 mm. The seller couldn’t answer me if this is normal and if I order same color- shall I receive 912 or 912s. Don’t want to throw another 30 bucks to find the answer:)
Seems like they were a steal at £13.23 each and took 13 days to arrive. Price has gone up but seller was extremely fast getting here from China to South Wales. Same price as as standard Zippo from Amazon.
They’re bloody heavy, beefy things!
The tank for my Titanium arrived safely from Japan today too, seems very good Zippo like construction, will not be testing till my Titanium arrives.
Still waiting on my Titanium armour lighter, it seems to have arrived in the Netherlands so not long, that should be okay to carry on my belt.
Didn’t get an alert about a response to my post. Anyway, no, they didn’t provide a valid tracking number. There is a tracking number, but it doesn’t track anywhere. USPS tracking would be the most helpful, but mine still says “Label Created, not yet in system”, although I received the lighter last month.
Ordered 3 more from the link in the previous post. Just another thing to “collect”, but these will be handy to have. Never owned lighters, even disposables, but they would be handy a few times every month. I guess we have had some of those long-neck non-refillable ones, but I never use them.
Wanted to bring this up again as I FINALLY received one! What a journey it was to get it!
I received the chrome plated one and this thing is a BRICK! It’s so heavy, it would make a nice weapon as you could throw it at someone and incapacitate them. I don’didn’t notice anyone who purchased one describing it’s weight but maybe I missed it.
If I was going to carry this, I would have gone the expensive route like Steve did and bought the Ti model.
This is more of a table lighter due to it’s weight. I have to admit, the construction is first rate. Everything about it is quality.
Has Steve or anyone filled this with lighter fluid and a regular Zippo and see if this holds the lighter fluid much longer than a Zippo? This has an O-ring in the lid like Steve said in his original post to seal it more securely than a Zippo. What I always hated about Zippo’s is the fluid dried out in a matter of days or in a couple of weeks. Hopefully this will let less fluid escape.
Remember that scene in Kevin Costner’s movie “The Postman”? He came across a postal vehicle where the driver had been dead so long he was a skeleton but found a Zippo lighter that still worked!
Anyway, this is a quality lighter that’s too heavy to carry around unless you’re packing it in a survival bag or whatever.
Glad you eventually received it.
I did say it is a fair chunck of brass, a lot heavier at 150g versus the zippo’s 55g.
150g weighs about the same as 150g or 5.3oz, so easy to compare
The full ti version with fuel tank which I carry is 109g, I find that a nice weight.
I agree the brass does feel extra heavy.
My brass version sits on the worktop with fuel in it with the standard insert, doesn’t get used much but seems to retain the fuel for months.
Yeah, these are table lighters and not EDC lighters unless you’re used to carrying bricks in your pocket. So far the one I have has held fluid and not dried out.
I had to put another dispute in for the second lighter and the usb arc lighter that I ordered. After I put in the dispute, the same dealer you guys ordered from said I had not received my usb arc lighter because they cannot ship them to the USA. What?
This dealer fought me for a refund but luckily, PP came to my rescue and refunded me. NEVER order from AE unless the store accepts PP!
Even though AE stores offer items you can’t get anywhere else and that is really great and a lot of you have received your items eventually, I’m burnt out about using AE and I’m done with them!
I know, old thread but I wanted to update. I filled the lighter with Ronsonal lighter fuel, (which is quality fuel), about 1 1/2-2 months ago to see if the fuel would evaporate over that time.
I checked it today and not only had the fuel evaporated but the thin rubber gasket which supposedly seals the lid and helps keep the fuel from evaporating had completely disintegrated! Just tiny bits of it remaining and the rest completely gone leaving a somewhat sticky residue behind.
Who would have guessed they would use a rubber or whatever it’s composition is to seal the lid could be attacked and destroyed by lighter fuel, the very thing it’s supposed to contain? Kind of dumb!
It’s still an overbuilt quality lighter and the fuel will last longer than a regular Zippo but don’t expect it to hold fuel for months which is disappointing to me.
There are quite a few other versions, even a lighter weight ti model.
Never seen an alu version though. 7075 would be nice.
I use 0.5mm thick watch gaskets for sealing o-rings, forget the diameter, got a multipack years ago.
A tiny amount of lube helps too for sealing/ longevity prior to installation, like on our lights plus use extra refined fuel.
