Get off your rocker guy. I owned many Defiant lights. See my postings guy. China built for sure. I own quite few high powered lights listed below. Just some of them.
I assume you mean “100% made in the USA products,” but you’ve repeated just “100% made products” several times, so it seems worth clarifying.
Anyways, what brands have a higher percentage of made in the USA content than Maglite?
Maybe Surefire? I don’t know. If I remember right, Streamlight is assembled in the USA, but from what I’d read in the past, it sounded like nearly all of the components were foreign sourced.
And I reiterate my puzzlement from above: why are we going in circles on this discussion? I have so far been unable to find any place where Maglite claims to the 100% made in the USA.
None of the components your computers or smartphones have (that are being used here right now) are 100% made in the USA. Heck none of them are even 5% made in USA components. Oh well…
I picked up one of these Quantum Work Light jobs… LINK. Actually not bad for $7. It doesn’t have that enormous obnoxious “Quantum” label as shown in 1st photo — it’s actually quite a bit smaller. Not much of a spread in brightness for the 2 modes, but still usable. The magnetic tailcap is strong. Has a clip with hook hole in it. All metal body feels reasonably rugged, but plastic covering over COB array is rather junky.
There’s a more expensive model by “Braun” (not the German company) that’s $39.95. Looks pretty decent, with 390 lumens, 360 degree pivoting head, and it’s rechargeable with lithium ion cell (they don’t say what type—maybe 18650?).
I did buy a folding one for less, almost as bright, but also has a forward pointing 5mm LED for minor task work. Actually a pretty good deal. GearBest has one.
What the heck is wrong with you people? Seriously!!
Why attack a person for sharing a good deal he found?
Came here to see possible good deal, sickened by the foolish toxicity.
Geez.
Agreed man. BUT do not take seriously. Comments made by those guys indicate ignorance or inability to fully understand purpose of this forum.
I come from Technical/Engineering background and deal with these type of comments/opinions on a constant basis. I do not it bother. My comments are of fact not bs coming from professional perspective side.
Hey man. No one here questioned your intelligence. No one here insulted you in that manner. We just DISAGREED with SOME of your comments and agreed with others is all. So we poked ya around a bit - butt good naturedly. Not being mean and nasty about it like we’re somehow incapable of understanding your lofty subjective perspective.
You having a tech degree is all fine and good. Just be cognizant that that alone doesn’t make you automatically smarter than others here that may not. Often the contrary in my experience.
Your comments are always welcome. Why did I mention not to ” take seriously ” ? I deal with these type of comments or criticisms every from Engineering/Technical side EVERYDAY. The majority of the time comments are actually worthless and without any merit period.
Flashlight comments similar BUT NOT the same. While I agree not all comment/criticisms are based on personal opinion. The opinions varies among each person. So I take those comments with a grain of salt. Not way serious FOR SURE.
My replies come from personal experience and Engineering Design side to give reader broader perspective how flashlights are designed.
BTW, I NEVER claimed I am smarter than anyone else. Read my postings.
Perhaps they were confused by this part of your other post. “Comments made by those guys indicate ignorance or inability to fully understand purpose of this forum”
then nowadays you will buy nothing remotely new.
even old maglites had foreign bulbs.
100% usa produced means antiques.
not that there is anything wrong with an antique flashlight.
