Skyray King (3xXML, 4x18650 Fatty)

Yea, I wouldn't buy something that isn't in-stock either; doesn't make much sense to do so.

CNQuality is the only game in town that offers this light in CW or NW. So if you really want the NW, order it from Ric.

Hi Picrthis...there isn't one specific for the KING, but I purchased several of the Ultrafire UF-T70 holsters to also use for my DRY and for the KING from CnQualitygoods.com available from the link below.

The holster is perfect for the Ultrafire, but requires a slight modification to use for the other two flashlights. If you don't already have some around the house, purchase a pack of window air conditioner foam, the type used to insulate around those removable window A/C units. It's available at any home center or hardware store. Cut a piece about 2" in length and press it down into the bottom of the holster, adjust the length accordingly. It should allow the flashlight bezel area to fit snuggly at the top flap when closed. Here is a photo of the great fit on mine.

It's also very important with the KING to make use of the battery lock-out feature due to the digital switch. It's very easy for this light to turn on if slightly bumped, even if you're just placing it into the holster. Hope this helps.

+1. And I would order it from CNQG anyways. Small shop, good service, quick shipments, absolutely nothing to complain with them! Keep up the good work Ric!!

I agree as well, especially for the NW versions. The only reason I’d consider buying elsewhere is the 3+ weeks my order sat in customs in NYC because it came from HK registered post. I placed a couple smaller orders several days ago from Ric to be sent regular unregistered mail to see if they come any quicker. I remember when my orders from Ric would arrive in 10 days but for many of us US Customs is jerking us around with severe delivery delays. It’s no fault of Ric’s but I am an impatient man when it comes to some things. I hope customs gets their house in order ASAP.

I said it before: Use EMS!! It is worth every cent and you lose the customs B.S. From Ric I had mine in a week and they used Singapore Post.

You pay good for it, the total with EMS was 104 and change. Still even two of these would be a hell of a lot less than the Nitecore.

Thanks, I believe that is the same one Ric told me I should purchase; didn't know about using foam, I do believe I might have some of that in the garage already though..........Thanks!

Now it's USD71.2 at LightMalls: http://www.lightmalls.com/sky-ray-king-desert-yellow-3xcree-xm-l-t6-2000-lumens-3-mode-flashlight-4-18650

When it costs USD40 I'll buy another :)

$62.50 + shipping?

So we're supposed to trust they'll be fair with shipping because it's not included at checkout. How do they expect to be successful selling to westerners when they make shipping costs a mystery?

Brightest light I have. This is a cool white one from Manafont.

Thanks for doing the tests, Don. Always helps to have the cold hard stats in hand rather than going by estimations provided by various people.

Got my NW king today. Same as the others: no branding, no switch problem. :)

Good to hear! What were your first impressions? Happy with it? :)

Definitely happy! Switch has a good feel, good tint, good quality. Jsut hope driver holds up

I received my SkyRay King NW from CNQ today and I got a little surprise, a free holster! SWEET!

After charging up my brand new Hi-Max 2600mah 18650 batteries I noticed that on high that the light is only slighty brighter than my Fenix Tk35 on turbo. Is this right??? The King supposed to put out a little over 2000 lumens while the TK35 is ansi rated OTF of 820 lumens.

BTW....a rubber 2" qwik cap from home depot works perfectly as a lens cap for the Skyray King. ^_^

Price drop again, now it's USD69 at LightMalls: http://www.lightmalls.com/sky-ray-king-desert-yellow-3xcree-xm-l-t6-2000...

WHAT?? The King should totally SMOKE the tk35. Are you sure you are compensating for throw-flood differences? Remember, sometimes the naked eye is a terrible way to measure brightness. Experiment with it more and you may start seeing huge differences. Keep testing it out.

If you don't have a lux meter, I find that the best way to compare brightness is by taking some beamshots with a camera on fixed exposure settings. Our eyes tend to adjust to the increased brightness and it can be very deceiving.

Also, the King should be floodier, so the massive side spill lumens should be considered as well.

+1 It took me a long time to learn that. Many a time have I taken back "but this doesn't look that bright" statements I made. lol
