Fireflies E07 preview

I just a few minutes ago ordered a fairly pricey chunk of Tellurium Copper… in part to make a finned heat sink extension for my E07, seems to need it these days…

I’m having a lot of issues where I keep squeezing the o-ring out of the rear on mine, it gets pinch between tail cap and the body. Looking at the O-ring groove it doesn’t look like it’s machine very well it doesn’t look like a typical light would be cut. There’s also pretty bad galling in the groove.
I’ll get my real camera and take a pic later but in the mean time, Dale would you mind giving your professional opinion on yours?

Mine has a semi-slim clear o-ring that fits perfectly, no bind no pinch. I don’t remember if it came that way or if I changed it, to be honest, but since the head end also has a nicely fitted clear o-ring I’m going to have to assume this is the way it came. The groove does seem to be pretty minimal under the o-ring, hadn’t noticed it as I didn’t remove the o-ring before. Mine has the o-ring groove cut in a rounded profile that matches the o-ring, looks smooth and well cut though.

Does it look like this?

Dale & jdh00 - Your LH351D emitter swap looks a great idea. What is the output level of the LH351D vs the stock XPL-HI? I understand it that they are pretty close in output (unlike the SST-20 that seem way behind in lumens) - but don’t know what the result is in the real world. I like floody more than throwy so the swap is very tempting….

So…ordered mine from Nielsgadgets about 12 days ago, paid for the express shipping…
My Paypal account has been charged (indicating order processed by Neil’s website), but i haven’t even got a “shipped” notice yet.
Guess I’m not going to get it in “7-9 days”.
:frowning:

You hit the Chinese holiday bout perfect. Just got an Ali order shipped tonight - they are just getting back to work.

The Samsung LH351D in W6 power bin is more like the XP-L2 in output than it is the standard XP-L emitter. Without the undesirable qualities of the 2.

I am curious to learn how the driver would detect excess heat and step down in a situation where this same heat isn’t reaching the cooling fins…?

Hold the head, at the fins, and engage Turbo… how long til you can’t hold these “useless fins”?

TK said the heat travels via the power wires earlier in this thread. Shit gets hot, bezel and fins, and steps down in 10 seconds from polar vortex cold. Fire it up again you’re looking at 5 seconds. It’s wack

Most of the heat is transferred through contact between the thick copper MCPCB and emitter shelf (even if only the edge of the MCPCB is in contact). The negative lead can carry thermal energy to the driver but of course the driver itself is in contact with the head in proximity to the fins, so either way, the fins are getting to do their job.

Married? Have a Gold wedding band? Touch the band at the top with a piece of ice, even carefully using only a tiny contact point, amazing how quickly the inside of the band gets ice cold….

Well dang.
Looks like they came off vacation long enough to charge my PayPal last Sunday, though, lol.
Do people normally get a notice when shipped? I seem to remember when I bought my Emisar lights, I never got any shipped or tracking notice and it just showed up in my mailbox one day.
That was directly from Hank, though, and not Nielsgadgets.

The Chinese holiday schedules are all over the place but in this time frame. Think the 15th is the normal date to return, but some take longer. I've ordered twice from Neal since his new website, and get emails when the order is placed, and when the order is shipped. On your order status detail, when it's shipped you should see tracking info, if applicable.

With Hank at IOS, I have dozen's and dozen's of orders over the years. Nothing changed much, but lately, even if you pay for tracking he does not give the tracking # to you -- you have to ask. And always - Hank uses the 3 day rule - place an order, 3 days later it's shipped. You can only order items he has in stock. Why the 3 days delay? No idea, but that delay has worked for me many times -- adding a quick order of stuff I forgot, then he roles the orders up into one shipment. Very reliable retailer/vendor, and uses the best shipping option depending on time of year, current trends, etc.

With Neal as a retailer, this is all new pretty much, though he's shipped tons of product. My last order took 2 weeks to ship - his stock vs. listed items is not so in sync at times, but I had some special stuff goin on in that order, and he upgraded my order anyway.

I ordered some White Flats from Hank on Dec 28th, still no sign of them. Asked for the tracking number I paid for several weeks in, it still shows nothing at all… so YMMV

Ouch! That's not good. I ordered $80 worth of LEDs, including white flats, on Jan 20th, shipped Jan 24th and received them bout a week ago.

Yeah, I got White Flats on boards along with more of the 32mm Quad boards and Angie optics to go with them. Ordered Dec 26, got a shipped email on the 28th, asked for the $2 tracking number I’d paid for a week or so ago. The tracking number hasn’t showed it to have even shipped. $42 worth of stuff so not a huge amount but one of the Angie optics is to replace the one that got burned in my Q8 Ham’r light so it’s kinda been nagging at me. lol

Edit: As a base for comparison, I ordered a Rhinoshield screen protector for the original Google Pixel on Feb 12th, it shipped on the 13th and tracking says it will be here in 4 days… this order confirmation email had a big notification in red lettering stating “Due to the coming Lunar New Year holiday, If your order is placed between January 30th 21:00 CST and February 11th 21:00 CST, your order will not start processing until February 12th. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!” They are based out of WAN CHAI, HONG KONG, I don’ tknow if it shipped from there or not.

Can someone say if this vapcell battery is good for this light? or is the samsung 40t the best ?

since i dont have any 21700 batteries i would order from nkon so thanks in advance for what is the best for this light.

Why not buy the real thing? They have the Samsung 40T in stock.

https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/21700-20700-size/samsung-inr21700-40t-4000mah-30a.html

The 30T and 40T are the real thing - nothing beats them. Test results in post #1506 here.

Out of stock  so i take it the 40t are ideal for this light then and fits ok ?
