flat earth people

Interesting. What state was that Deputy Dog?

Just Imagine how dumb and gullible people can be if the earth is really flat. :student:

The youngest woman ever elected to Congress again made headlines when she said Monday that she and other young Americans fear “the world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y

I don’t believe this is a political story. Flat earth, sky is falling or that stupid statement, what’s the difference?

If the world is going to end in 12 years, it’s far too late for us to do anything about it. Instead, let’s party like it’s 1999! You know… preparing for all the Y-2K bugs that were going to destroy civilization.

Very cool

Oh… OK. I should have put 2 & 2 together on that one. Thanks for the info.

Y-2K…. A blast from the past!! I had forgot all about that hoopla.

so Y2k, 12 years later 2012, both massive fails lol, now another 12 year interval before world ends? fool me once……

They’ll keep predicting the end of the world until it happens.

:person_facepalming:

Yeah, but then they’ll get the last laugh!

Seems flat earthers have no common sense reasoning skills at all.

Does anyone remember the Global cooling predictions from the 70s? I think Hell was supposed to freeze over before Y2K

Yep, I remember. :+1:

Google and Snopes want to be your friends.

Just barely old enough, I remember some sort of faux documentary with a washed up actor trying to scare the crud out of the audience. If you go back a few more years there was Soylent Green where they were predicting global warming & dead oceans. It seems to cycle from one to the other every so often.

Wikipedia list of end of the world predictions

Snopes is ok but they have been caught several times blatantly lying to protect whoever, whatever when it suits whoever at the time.

Please, stop.

:open_mouth: . :open_mouth: … I see what you did there. :person_facepalming: .
.

Don’t forget what Soylent Green was made out of! Yummy stuff for sure. I was in college and saw it when it first came out. Kind of fit in with the mood of the country at that time.

People thought the earth was flat thousands of years ago. Ok fine. Since then in the recent past people learned how to fly in space and with out doubt noticed yes indeed the earth is mostly round. You can convince people to eat tide pods. Drive a car blindfolded. Consume a tablespoon of cinnamon and almost die and do other countless stupid things. Science in and of itself is not bad. Without it we would not be playing with electrons and making them do our bidding.
