Review request for HKJ [Rechargeable Batteries]

Molicel P26A 18650?

I also searched for a European source for the 4000mAh 21700 Molicel P42A but could not find one.

I have 3 Molicel in queue, the P26A will probably be published this month.

Here : Molicel P42A 21700 | Fogstar | Official UK Molicel Distributor

In Great Britain, a little expensive, but the only one and NPE approved so Grade A Cells guaranted.

And Fogstar.UK has the same batch of Molicel P42A than Li-ion Wholesale visibly, look at her pictures!

HKJ, I want to thank and compliment you on the new filter functionality on your site.
Helps lot in my searches!

I miss O:) EAIEP, they should be about cooked now don't they?

Not yet, they are still in the queue.

Quick question for Henrik: how/where did you got the Turnigy sub-C 5000mAh cells you reviewed? May need a cheap way to get one or two.

I recently bought two 7,2V Turnigy Stick Packs made with them, for drill battery pack restoration. After dismantling the packs measured all cell voltages, all of them were close to 1,3V except one at 1,235V. Re-raised its voltage to 1,304V and I have it under observation, but looks like it self-discharges :| quicker than the rest.

Cheers ^:)

From a Swede, but I believe they are sold by Hobby king.

Hello HKJ,

I know, that it is not rechargeable, but did you consider reviewing the Soshine AA and AAA 1.5V lithium primaries? For some low drain applications, those could be a good choice as an ‘alkaleak’ replacement.

Depends on price and availability.

You can get them here and here .

I have ordered some

Thank you, I’ll be curious of your result

It will be some time, I took the slow boat option.

At the given price for those lithium primaries I can buy a bunch of alkalines (a lot really), and if I were to worry I'd laminate them LoL.

In my experience I've rarely seen leaking alkalines, something which can happen to a very minor extent when AC recharging them, and their consecuences aren't terrible either. I've even had alkalines in vintage toys without issues, yet I preserve stuff well.

I really see no point in buying lithium primaries other than financing unworthy dubious technologies.

Cheers

Hi HKJ,
I have bought a pair of these 16340 batteries and they perform surprisingly well and I wonder how they compare to the AW 16340 15C that you tested a few years ago.

https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/14500-16340-18350-18490-18500/enercig-16340-700mah.html

I am interested in testing them, but I will not order just two of them due to shipping.
If there are a few more good ideas from nkon I will order, preferable batteries at 2800mAh or lower, that test station do not have a long queue.

I had a look around in the Nkon store but could not find any more interesting batteries to test.
Anyone else?

I'd shift a bunch of the batteries in the “above 2800mAh” test station queue to the “up to 2800mAh” one, at least in the meantime. O:)

Now that I recall the recent Turnigy Sub-C 5000mAh (Gray) review (likely the best sub-C cell in the market), I could suggest testing some of the prismatic cells being sold at HobbyKing to check their ratings' reliability and how good they really are. Mooch tested some of these packs in the past, he found exaggerated ratings but overall great power delivery performance. Just a small suggestion.

Oh wait! Just remembered I recently ordered KingWei 18350 1000mAh cells, will be conducting capacity and DC IR tests on them upon receipt. I'm not necessarily suggesting these, I believe they are the same 18350 cells currently being rewrapped by Shockli and BestFire, but their seller's Shop924810 Store has some interesting stuff worth looking at, imho. In store local searches are not working for me there.

Cheers ^:)
