Table of tested chargers, comments?

I now see how it works , Thanks

OK, so a nice feature would be for it would be:
Able to search multiple features at one time. In other words…. (as in my case on the “search index/options”), I would press the LiION ONLY, DISPLAY V and mAh, 12v Power Imput, 2 slots, (options) and the resulting page would only show chargers that have all of these features…since those are the features I must have in a charger.

That is the way I was trying to use your informative index (my bad) since most search charts work this way. (Parametrek Batteries)
Just a thought, thanks for all your hard work and info !!!

You can search on two parameters, the first is select the best table, the next is sorting a column. If you select the right parameters the remaining list will be fairly short.

Parametrek is something else, is uses a database, my list is just a html page. I have found a script that can filter on each column (tablefilter.js), but it cannot sort. If anybody knows a free javascript library that can do both, please say.

OK…I am an idiot……How do you “sort a column”?

Click on the title, once or twice depending on sort direction.

HKJ, what’s your favourite charger in 2019? I would like to test mAh, charge 2/4 cell, display.

I have single cell tp4056 charger, 4 wire battery holder, skyrc b6 mini, zb206 battery tester, but all these can charge/test only one cell. I am looking for a decent charger in the price range of 20-30usd.

I have only published 7 charger reviews in 2019 and only two of them are 4 slot with mAh display and only one of these has adjustable current, that is the Nitecore UM4.

If you want to discharge batteries to measure them, the Lii-500 and BT-C3100 are still good cheap chargers.
You can also check my analyzer list: Round cell charger index (Analyzer)

HKJ, can you update review of ISDT C4 with current updated firmware, i need your feedback especially for NIMH battery,

I do not have time for that at the moment.

Why did you not add to the table ISDT N8?

I did add it, but I forgot to upload the new page, making it rather difficult to see

It is fixed now.

Thank you, waiting for the test Xtar VC4S!

Coming soon.

:+1:

Are the new Liitokala Lii-500S also queued up for testing?
How about the “upgraded” Miboxer C4-12 (v2) ?

500S is planned, but the first one I got died during the first charge and I have not received another one yet.
I do not have any plans for the Miboxer.

this is great data, thanks for all the reviews, graphs and this table.

Hi HKJ,

I have been trying to find a NiMh D cell smart charger. Chargers that will take 4 D cells for charging seem to be fairly rare. I have a couple of obsolete units made for NiCad; so no good.

I bought a bunch of D cell NiMh cells. I bought a couple of chargers from Soshine (the battery manufacturer). They charge NiMh, but have really stupid interface and no detectable (to me) smart properties. When charging they have little barometers (they look like barrels). They constantly have bars running rapidly up and down for each battery. Annoying and mostly information free. You could try interpreting state of charge from the little bars, but with any real information. It is on or off.

There are no actual values anywhere. And the batteries get quite hot toward the end. I am not sure they even stop charging when the little barrels are full. And if you are just standing in front of the charger you can not even see what the barrels are doing. You have to bend over to see.

This is the best I could find.

Can you (or anyone) point out a decent smart D cell charger that actually has controls and useful information. Preferably able to do 4 cells at a time.

Something like this and connected to the Opus (for example) BT-C3100 will I believe work, though I have tried it yet.

On the other hand, I have in the house a Xtar 2-bay charger that can handle 2xD cells, I can’t remember the model, I’ll check it later today when I’m home.

My charger index has a table with NiMH D cell capable chargers:
https://lygte-info.dk/info/roundCellChargerIndex%20CD%20UK.html

I do not test D cells, but look for chargers that can deliver at least 1A

Note: NiMH cells will always get hot at the end when using -dv/dt termination. You can see that on the temperature curve I include in most NiMH tests.

Thanks. The heat thing helps.

I have not found a smart charger that appears to have enough space to insert 2 or preferably 4 D cells. That was why I got the Soshine charger.

Right now I am sitting here listening to the house smoke alarms. Hoping that they eventually get tired of the whole thing. It has been running for more than an hour so far. No way to turn them off. AC powered, but with lithium batteries. All daisy chained.

My best guess is that a Plant from Hell has emitted enough extremely powerful perfume in a room to poison the sensors. I moved it away from sensors. Nada so far.

I need to readdress my smoke detector system. It really needs to be able to be muted.

No one actually will care about my smoke alarms. I just rambled on while sitting here with an unused keyboard. And thinking about trying to get some sleep.

Here is the Xtar charger:
