Unkown Emitter

Anyone know what emitter this is?  My guess would be an Osram Golden Dragon or Golden Dragon Plus, but I can't find anything on Osram's site.  I'd post a picture of the star as well but I can't get the top reflector off of the pill.

It is NOT an OSRAM.

It is a generic LED

Really?  Wow, because the light that it's in is putting out close to 80 lumens, at least compared to other lights I have...

I can say that OSRAM Golden Dragon is not. Maybe another model of OSRAM, but maybe not.... possible generic

It's hard to tell from the picture since there's little else to go on, except the location of the bond wires but if I absolutely had to guess, I'd put my money on this being perhaps an oldish Luxeon emitter. I'm really just guessing though. As for the GD/GD+, you can usually identify those just by looking at the dye. There should be a smallish square inside a larger square. Okay, did I just write that? Time for more coffee. Big Smile I'll try to find some beamshots to show what I'm trying (and obviously miserably failing) to explain later. Wink

It's a generic (average chinese company) 1W led. Probably looked at through a convex lens of a f2t light?

I have a possibly exact flashlight and emitter. The led is unknown to me, but it most certainly does not do anywhere close 40 lumens. Being a zoomie fells like bright when zoomed out but if i compare it to a q3 zoomie it just blushes. IT's a good "generic" nothing more im afraid. At least it has a nice color temperature compared to generics.

I was having that same problem until I pulled out and reset the driver in the pill - the connection was bad.  For absolute comparison, it's now brighter than my Mr Lite KC-05 on High, which was measured here at 72 lumens.

Sure.  Picture 1 is the light, picture 2 is the driver - you can see the notch in the driver, you can use a tool to lever out the driver and re-seat it (I used a small awl).

Pictures 3-5 are beamshots, approx. 1 metre away, 1/8, F5.6.  These have been resized only.  The first shot is the flashlight with the emitter posted above, the second is the Mr Lite KC-05 on Super High (measured as 72 lumens), the third is a Sipik SK68 which uses a Cree XR-E Q3.

I have the  same flashlight  but with OSRAM Golden Dragon Plus (cool white). The driver is the same, the body the same, but the LED not

EDIT: That is not a Golden Dragon, Why? because in throw mode you dont see the square shape of the LED, you see completely round shape. So I continue without knowing what LED is

Wait, what?  None of those pictures show the light I'm talking about at full throw - this picture is of the light at full throw.  It's definitely got a square shape.  (Sorry, bad focus)

Full Throw

OH, doesnt matter, that square shape is square BUT NOT from an OSRAM golden dragon, is another LED.

To be of an OSRAM it must be square shape with one edge "cutted"

Hm.. alright, thanks.  Probably just a hard-driven generic, then.  Certainly no shortage of those around, but hey, I only paid about $3 for it on sale.
