Positive Comments about Neal Zhang owner of Neals Gadgets

HERE

I just purchased a Lumintop GT micro from Neal. It will be a blast to have a 14500 powered flashlight that can outperform the original C8 style 18650 powered flashlights.

Thanks for this thread, I have never bought anything from Neal. But the information stated in here will motivate me to look into the offering.

The GT micro will no way outperform a C8, even the best 14500 battery will provide less current than a low current 18650, and the 29mm reflector will give 40% less throw than a 38mm C8 reflector.

The throw, with comparable led I expect the GT micro to be about half of a C8. Which is pretty cool because the volume/weight seems less than half to me.

Well, he’s probably comparing the XP-L HI GT Micro to the XM-L2 C8 that was originally sold.

Yes I am talking about lights of old. Ten years old or so. Latest single 18650’s powered lights leave the GT Micro in the dust. Hey the Micro will be fun to use and own. If I want a super torch I know what to buy.

I agree that it is the small size that makes this light fun

hm so u mean that if a c8 xpl hi throws 400m the micro will only do about 200m ?

Bumping an older thread. Does Neal sell legit/quality batteries? I know there are a bunch of knockoffs floating around.

Yes, he does sell legitimate cells.

He has this highly-rated 26650s, among other sizes:

HERE

Are those same as red/black 26650 shockli?? Just different print label?

If you are in the US, you are better off getting them from MTN . Same overall price with faster shipping.

My experience:
Ordered an E07. Got confirming email right away saying I would get another email when shipped. Emailed him after three weeks asking when the light would be shipped. No response. Hasn’t been a month yet so I may still see it but still radio silence.

I just found this thread….

I have dealt with Neal many times. Each & every time has been a very positive experience.
I had one light that had a problem & Neal replaced it right away.
He packs each shipment very well also.

Neal is a top rate guy & dealing with him is a pleasure!! :+1:

Thank you Neal….

Before meeting neals I always bought my stuff from Banggood or gearbest and aliexpress. Now I mostly shop from neals, he gives nice discounts and better service than the others. I can recommend him 100%

I ordered from him a few days ago. No response yet. Looking forward to a good experience.

Every purchase from Neal has gone well for me . I would recommend !

Yeh he’s alright

I may be down played for this, but my 2nd purchase with Neal went bad.
I’m not bashing nor ranting. More at reaching out to find a 26980 cell.

Back in January I purchased a Nightwatch Avaritia N40SE and shipping was fast. So I promptly ordered the extension tube with a 26980 battery. After a month had no order fulfillment. Things dragged on and after repeated emails all I got was the tube is in BO. 2 months later had a confirmation of shipment but tracking was erroneous. 3 months, still nothing. I reached out to Tatasal to which he said Neal would email me - no such thing happened. 4 months and I get a refund (Paypal) and a message from Tatasal that Neal cancelled the order.

TL;DR Neal has a communication problem. He is overwhelmed with orders / design / production shortcomings. English not his strong point, he doesn’t return any mail when things are problematic (too time consuming). The battery most probably does not ship here to Canada and the shipment is retained or returned to sender. This I assumed and offered an alternative. But as he has his hands full, it falls on deaf ears.

In short, deceived of his ability to return emails. This I feel was mismanaged; I would have taken the extension tube and found the cell from another source.

So I’m looking around for a work around. Found the cell elsewhere but shipping is high.

Damn Canadian shipping regulations. I believe they use commercial flights for shipping, passenger safety prohibits hazardous material transportation. They could use ground as DHL.
