Copper S2+ limited edition

Thank you very much

Great, i wasnt aware the sst20 comes in 2700k, for me it wouldnt matter much really who makes the emitters as long as its very warm

Simon so lets go buy it some sst20 emitters then ok…

i have got 1000pcs SST20 2700K ,i will add it in my store after several days later

Simon have you decided what the next batch will look like?

Simon please let us know when you get the 3500k sst20. Thanks!

i will send photos several days later

SST20 3500K not in stock
i only got 2700k

Simon will it be possible request to have tailswitch lighted ?

Resounding yes is my guess.

Built a torch with one of his blue lighted switches in the past. Used 5.1KΩ + 10KΩ bleeding resistors (≈3.37KΩ), it ended up being @#$% bright. I'd probably choose 10KΩ next time.

I understand the flashlight is going to be smooth.
What about optional body tubes with knurling? Perhaps also for an 18350 battery?

old version and 18350 tube will be produced ,too

smooth version

Simon what tint and flux bin did you get for the 2700k? Because the tint on the sst20 is is very output dependent, green on low output amd rosier on high output, I’m hoping you g9t the JA1,JA4,JD1,JD4 tint bins because with those at least the tint will not be green/yellow at low outputs. But regardless sst20 is less green than any 219C.

^ Despite all efforts by BLF-members and sellers to get special colour bins below the BBL for the SST-20, it seems that Luminus, for all colour temperatures delivers the same limited set of tint bins that are generally a bit above the BBL , and is only below the BBL for the 3000K version. I doubt that Simon will get a different tint bin for 2700K than Kaidomain (which is the JC1 bin).

Lighted tails the way that was developed on BLF using bleeding current from batt+ to the tail (which was used in a few BLF and Astrolux lights) are an electronic can of worms, all resistor values must be tuned to not not disturb the user interface, any change in the flashlight, even a different main led or a different tail colour requires renewed tuning of the values. Some types of drivers will not even work with a lighted tail. I do not recommend manufacturers to add a lighted tail on their flashlights unless they really know what they are doing.

go to page 5, user emarkd did a orange lighted, thats something i would like if possible, if he can make why not simon ?

so mine got a quad E21a 4000k R9080 setup with LD-A4 driver at 6 amps. Also added a two-channel lighted tailcap, warm-white/orange, to finish the look

he added a 2 channel lighted tailcap, is that complicated to do ?

Ask emarkd if it required tuning of the resistor values. I do know that the led4power drivers (emarkd used a LD-A4 driver from led4power) work well with lighted tails, I succesfully made one with a LD3 driver. But for example the BLF-X5/X6 is very finicky, only very dim tail lights work, and with the newest low voltage main leds, or triples, it sometimes does not work at all. I think I remember trouble also with the biscotti driver.

wow looks nice, now the hard part imagine it in copper fininsh

That tube reminds me of the M2 with its longitudinal grooves. I’ve noticed the anodizing varies by model light and even between batches. Will this light have the smooth ano or will it be more like the chaulky M1?

Will it have the integrated emitter shelf or a pill?

Either way, looks like it would be a good host to drop something in like an LEDil Boom, TIR, or some other of their dichroic optics. I really like the sst-20 in a TIR, and the Djozz tests here showed that a quality TIR preserves R9. That, and there’s almost no more beam artifacts.

I think Mouser’s 2700K SST-20s are below the BBL? Actually looks like they are a 271 bin kit, so looks like it could go either way, but that being said I’m still very pleased with my sst-20’s from mouser.

My opinion: I hoped for a bit more grooves/rings, or it to be slightly narrower at the battery tube, it is very straight/boring as it is now.

But I’m sure there are people who like this plain look.

My thoughts exactly. How about a slightly narrower battery tube?
