Amazing how the Q8 has become widespread. People buying the Q8 not realizing this forum is where the Q8 started and was developed
I'm so glad Thorfire/Sofirn stayed with what we recommended for Q8 specs. Reading the reviews, the 2 big things they like is the brightness and that the lumens rating is honest, and generally they love the UI. There's also the quality and chunkiness - feels like it's built solid, which it is of course.
I like what they did with the Sofirn Q8 version - the battery tube design and the XPL HI's.
What I'd like to see is more LED and body color choices, better anodizing, possibly a higher quality double coated AR lens, and USB-C charging.
You can increase my quantity to 2 lanterns (from 1). These will be extremely useful around the farm.

Yeah I think I need to make my 2 into three.
2 for in the house, and one for in the car. Just seems like it might be a good thing to have in case a sustainable light is needed.

new detailed drawings are in for the build design, and it is looking good. (only the production model will have the same battery tube as the Sofirn Q8 with no flats) It will have the charging port with a rubber seal cap on the back 180 degrees from the switch side.

Just a heads-up that the updated lists will usually be pushed to the cloud each Sunday night. Updates to post number 2 will likely be shown shortly thereafter.
Everyone should check the names list to verify that their BLF name is correctly spelled. Names are not case sensitive but otherwise your name must correspond exactly to what is on the list. Note that embedded spaces are valid characters and must be the same in both cases. So for example if your name is ‘XXX YYY’ with 1 embedded space and ‘XXX YYY’ with 2 embedded spaces is on the list then they are not the same.
The reason why this is important is that the pm’s will be generated from the names shown on the list (many thanks to Mr.Scott for the script!). If your name is not on the list then you won’t be getting a pm in the future.
This is a 1 time only check. Once verified that it is right then that’s all the checking needed. If your name needs to be corrected or added then send me a pm. Do not post in this thread what the correction is since it could easily be missed.
Do not send me a pm if your name is correct.

Also has the emitters been sourced or determined?
No powerbank function, as it would make the build more complicated for the V1.
The emitters have already been determined to be 2700k LH351Ds 90CRI and 5000K LH351Ds 90CRI.
Because of tint mixing, the light emitted will be below the BBL curve by a long shot, especially closer to 2700k.
