On ff shop they seem do have either version depending on the day. Finally they got the version I want in the color I want, but now the only aux leds are ice blue. Want purple. Seems like I never win.
i thought aux leds are only purple in this light?
hm banggood is really having serious issues stocking up the fireflies models, just checked again my model that i ordered, its postponed again even more, a few days ago said march 8 now,

I ordered the 6500K version, grey, with purple accent lights.
As far as I can tell, the machining on the body has been adjusted - no sharp edges at all. The misplaced screw in the driver was corrected, and the carolco lens sits perfectly in the four holes designed for its legs WITHOUT one having to be broken off, lol.
I haven’t tried removing the driver to see the condition of the mating between the driver and the pill, but from what I can see through the 4 lens positioning holes, the driver is flush up against the pill and there is thermal paste showing in each of the holes. So maybe they camfered the edge of the driver to allow better seating?
Anyway, wonderful light! Exactly what I was looking for in regards to size, output, style and interface.

The aux led on the switch is only purple. But the one’s on the head are blue, purple, or red. Hard choice if you ask me.
Fireflies site lists only “Ice Blue Aux LEDS ”
Do you know why Neal’s Gadgets is the only red ones I think?

By far the color I like least is purple. However, the lighted switch only comes in purple and having different aux leds would just bother me way to much…. So I chose purple :person_facepalming:
Red would be cool but Red has the lowest output of any color which is why I would’ve chosen blue or yellow. It’s actually surprising there’s no photos of the different aux led colors anywhere on the web
Lol I take it back. In searching for photos of the aux led colors I did find a HQ pic of the purple aux leds in the raw aluminum finish.

It bugs me more that the switch LEDs are crooked. They’re crooked I think on all six of my FireFlies lights. The E07 is close, but still very noticeable.
I wouldn’t mind red with purple. I don’t get how Neal has ones that Fireflies doesn’t list on his own site or has ever even mentioned.
Neals site doesn’t have an in stock/backorder status anywhere.
I do know from past experience he responds to emails within 24 hours typically.
More important for you though: good luck getting BG to cancel your order. They tried to tell me in the past it’s a multi stage process between customer service, shipping and then back to customer service. They suggested the process only takes about 3 days which in BG time should be 5
I have pondered the same thing but Fireflies website appears pretty low budget to me. My guess is that it’s just not worth it to them to make the changes and add the options. BG doesn’t even mention anything about the aux LEDs being an option.
A website made by a flashaholic for flashaholics is likely the only reason us consumers are given the options we want. Neal’s the man! :sunglasses:
they did actually cancel it, got a follow upreply from someone, and i look now my order it says split up and the item in stock is sent now even… so guess it worked, now waiting for the refund on paypal tho which says can take up to 72hours.
