Test/review of TrustFire IMR26650 4200mAh (Red-gold) 2019

TrustFire IMR26650 4200mAh (Red-gold) 2019

Official specifications:

  • Brand: Trustfire

  • Model: IMR 26650

  • Capacity: 4200mah

  • Type: Li-ion battery

  • Voltage: 3.7V

  • Watt hour: 15.54Wh

  • Maximum discharge current: 45A

  • Size: 26.16*66mm

A 26650 battery rated for a very high current.

The two cells are not perfectly matched, but they can easily deliver the rated capacity. One cell died during a 30A discharge, I stopped the other due to temperature.

Conclusion

The batteries are not perfectly matched and cannot deliver the rated current, it is probably a good idea to stay below 20A, but they do have the rated capacity.

Thanks for the test HKJ..

Does that mean that 1 battery actually can't be used anymore? Like.. really dead?

Yes. This sometimes happens and shows the battery has some sort of build in protection. I have also seen batteries vent and working fine afterwards (But probably not for months).

How come in the chart the 2 amp test only has 2805 mah but the the 1 amp &3amp say nearly 4500mah , is that a typo?

Yes and no. The problem is my test station stopped during the 2A test on the A battery and did record a full discharge curve. I.e. the number is what my logfile says, but is not for a full discharge as can also be seen on the curves.
I have “fixed” it by using only the values for the B cell in the table (of course only for the 2A discharge).
