I really don’t know yet if the throw distance on the R90TS is any better than my R90C, though lumens are definitely “doubled” based on realistic figures, so that’s good, but at the same time the R90C has close spill. I really like it because I can see my entire yard and the ridge behind me, but some may not like all that spill. It will be interesting to hear some opinions on the the throw, the spill, and the efficacy of the objects at distance, and photo comparison to an R90C. I know Martin has both
Like I said a month ago about these high power lights, they don’t have CPU style cooling to keep temps down, sustained output will be rubbish. In other words these lights will just be toys.
Curious what lumens he assumed the MT09R to be. Hakelite over spec the lumens on the MT09R. If this even makes 80k lumens, it would be really amazing since all flashlight manufacturers seem to use a reference that is 20% higher than the Maukka/ANSI standard.
Have to ask Martin or ZozzV6 whether R90TS has fan cool. I would say it should since externally they looks 100% identical. Imalent will save cost if having similar parts for these two lights.
I don’t understand how he is a troll. Some people are passionately loyal to a brand and that is not uncommon. Not sure why that is a problem. Skylumen does make good lights as I own a bunch of them.
If one of those VN lights could run longer than stock on highest output without shutting down or burning my hand I would drop some serious money on them.
I’m just now watching Martin’s video that went live recently.
It seems the MS18 and R90TS have 2 fans (30mm I believe) in a push/pull configuration. They are using heat pipes as well. It seems odd, but I guess the pipes makes an improvement over not using them.
It’s a bit strange that the R90TS has smaller diameter reflector cups for the 6 xhp35-HI in the middle compared to the bigger cups on the 12 emmiters around the perimeter. I guess they ran out of room. Would having them all the same diameter be better? IDK. It means 12 emitters have a tighter hotspot than the other 6.
And this is why I didn’t respond to his last comment earlier in the thread, They will never see the light, and they like having the last word, so just let them have it. In other words, don’t argue with an (insert descriptive term here), they only drag you down and beat you with experience.
