It has been asked how Surefire compatible some of the recent P60 lights are. Not having a clue, I bought a Solarforce L2M which is known to be Surefire compatible. So I dug out the camera and played.

Here we have Uniquefire L2, Ultrafire WF-504B, Solarforce L2M and Uniquefire R5

Here's the Solarforce disassembled into its constituent parts. The colours are way off as I was experimenting with rather inadequate lighting.

Lego time!

There we have (Top) a WF-504B head, Uniquefire R5 body, Solarforce L2M extension tube and Uniquefire R5 tailcap. This config lets me use 3x16340 (RCR123) which is usable with the XP-G R5 dropin that is in it - it can go up to 18V. There seems to be little difference in output but runtime should be a bit better. When I get the 18650 extension which is somewhere between Hong Kong and here - I'll be able to use two 18650s with this dropin for rather a long runtime.

The bottom pic is the Uniquefire R5 head, Solarforce L2M body and WF-504B tailcap. I don't actually like the bezel on the Solarforce and I don't like protruding "tactical" switches either. Not a problem as there is 100% parts interchangeability with the Ultrafire WF-504B, Ultrafire L2, Uniquefire L2, Uniquefire R5 and Surefire stuff if I want to go bankrupt. Actually the R5 dropin in the short Solarforce body with the head and tailcap from the Uniquefire L2 makes a nice little CR123 light. With an MC-E dropin and an IMR cell it makes a little light with monster output. Just not for very long.

Now that is a nice lego......hows the fit and function of the lights.

They all fit well and work well.My pocket light for the last week was the Solarforce running an IMR cell and an MC-E dropin. But I don't like the Solarforce bezel or switch so I used the black ones off the Uniquefire L2 which gives me a little very bright light. I used the extension tube from the Solarforce to run 3 x 16340 in the L5 to see if it were any brighter (The dropin is up to 18V). It wasn't really any brighter according to my meter and the Seraph clone looks odd with a black extension tube. Basically, any one of the parts from any of these lights can be used with any other with no hassles.

Im really digging the look of the L2 with the Seraph clone head and the SF tailcap.......does look nice to me.

The colours are a mile out - it just looks strange in real life - each part is a different colour. But I managed to mess up the lighting..

I'll photograph the Lego in daylight tomorrow. Hopefully then the camera will get the colours right.

Okay......cool. I was meaning to ask do you still have mode switching with the lights legoed like that.

I do. They appear to be completely interchangeable

Now that is a plus.....if something breaks at least you have something to replace it for the time being.
